Amid the chaos of the 2009 holiday travel season, jihadists planned to slaughter 290 innocent travelers on a Christmas Day flight from the Netherlands to Detroit, Michigan. Twenty-three-year old Nigerian Muslim Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab intended to detonate Northwest Airlines Flight 253, but the explosives in his underwear malfunctioned and brave passengers subdued him until he could be arrested. The graphic and traumatic defeat they planned for the United States failed, that time.

Following the attempted attack, President Obama threw the intelligence community under the bus for its failure to "connect the dots." He said, "this was not a failure to collect intelligence, it was a failure to integrate and understand the intelligence that we already had."

Most Americans were unaware of the enormous damage to morale at the Department of Homeland Security, where I worked, his condemnation caused. His words infuriated many of us because we knew his administration had been engaged in a bureaucratic effort to destroy the raw material—the actual intelligence we had collected for years, and erase those dots. The dots constitute the intelligence needed to keep Americans safe, and the Obama administration was ordering they be wiped away.

Muhammad Fethullah Gulen heads a global empire of schools and Islamic cultural centers and is one of Turkey most influential spiritual leaders...... He directs his cult-like Islamic movement from a guarded compound in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania........and has 140 charters schools in 26 states.....

This school system is the second largest chain of 'charter schools' in the US.. it does NOT answer to any widely elected school board... There is no citizen accountability or oversight.

Guliens strategy mirrors that of the 'Muslim Brotherhood'.... the GUlen movement helped drag Turkey back to its Islamic roots and so his influence should not be under-estimated in the U.S. and he certainly should not be given taxpayer funding.

Gulen schools rake in tens of millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars every year....the schools also'covertly' engage in Islamic missionary outreach, usually after-hours or during school extra-curricular activities........Anti-Shariah activist Pam Geller says Gulen has been dubbed 'the Turkish Khomeini' for a reason......

Most of the teaching positions go to foreigners who come to the U.S. on H-1B guest-worker visas from Turkey......"There is alleged abuse of the teachers who are required to kick back a percentage of their salaries, and they do teach a cultural emphasis on Turkey and Islam."....

..... This is the visa program that SEN. MARCO RUBIO wants to expand through his I-Squared bill, tripling the cap on such visas from about 66,000 per year to 195,000 per year.

Outside political action, evangelicals need to proactively confrontationally evangelize, as in gracious offering gospel tracts and literature to them in their language, and actually outreach to them in other ways as well with the love and truth of God, and engage them about the Biblical faith, and expose Islam as needed. Maybe mail them all a DVD of Muslim to Christ conversion testimonies .

There is a mosque (though it is called by another name) not far from here in this crowded small city, and a weekday afternoon there are meetings with 200 attendees. We have given them tracts as they came out and placed them on cars before, but i find it astounding that the can get that many people together for prayer on a regularly on a weekday afternoon when they are such a minority. Unless we can see a similar and greater response by real Christians then the future belongs to them and or atheists.
