Cruz pulls one more Clinton-like dirty trick before heading to New Hampshire

First it was the Clinton like intimidation letter scolding voters because Ted Cruz decided their past refusal to vote in the Iowa caucuses made them bad citizens. That was a planned eleventh hour “Oops that NEVER should have happened; why that’s terrible,” dirty trick worthy of Hillary and Bill Clinton.

Then on election night Cruz super supporter Republican Congressman Steve King – (a self- identified enemy of amnesty who has no trouble overlooking the pro amnesty Club For Growth’s support for Cruz) decided that Cruz needed another thumb on the scale and spread a lie about Ben Carson dropping out of the race with this tweet, “Carson looks like [he] is out. Iowans need to know before they vote. Most will go to Cruz, I hope.” Now In true Clinton style, Cruz apologized to Carson, but of course it comes after the fact.

Cruz said, “What the team should have done is send around the follow-up statement from the Carson campaign clarifying that he was indeed staying in the race when that came out. That was a mistake from our end, and for that I apologize to Dr. Carson.” In another Clintonian “Not me, It wasn’t me” statement Cruz tried to blame CNN for the “innocent mistake.” Cruz has said that CNN reported Carson was leaving the race; but CNN says, “No, we didn’t say that.”

More than this, Carson’s wife “Candy” actually heard the lie being spread in a polling place in Ankeny. According to a report in the Dailymail, Mrs. Carson “actually walked in, on it being said,[and] gave a speech about no, he’s still in the race and that’s a lie”

I don’t think the mailing on voter participation was that big of a deal. The information is public record and every campaign, even dog catcher has it. Not to mention the dozens upon dozens of list providers. That information was even offered to our business as a basis for developing business contacts.

Reminding people to exercise their privelege to vote is not a bad thing. Maybe it will spur someone to become involved.

Here here! I suppose there aren’t any amnesty proponents supporting Trump...

Either Cruz is orchestrating these sleazy attacks, or he’s got some overzealous staff people who will end up getting him in big trouble. Either way, a pattern is becoming clear and Cruz supporters will be wondering when the next shoe will drop.

If Iowa's Carson supporters were stupid enough to change their vote on the word of a Cruz supporter and not Team Carson, that's on them.

Breaking News: Trump to return to managing empire.

VOTE CRUZ !!

In the heat of the moment, what would you have concluded given the CNN report? What you would have done after that, might have been different than what these guys did. However, their actions are understandable and do not, in and of themselves, impugn Ted Cruz’s honesty.

Cruz’s active role was limited to an apparently sincere apology given directly to Ben Carson. Unless someone can show a malicious intent from direct knowledge, or other concrete facts, it is my opinion that the “fraud” issue is off the table.

“while the establishment gets their guy Rubio into pole position..”

You are exactly right. If Trump get knocked out of this Rubio will be the nominee. There is no way in Hades they will let Cruz have it.

Once again I will let Senator Sessions address the issue of the position Senator Cruz during the Gang of Eight.

I'll be borrowing your link, thanks.

Even if it's public information I absolutely would not want my name on a campaigns mailing, and then sending it to my neighbors. It's none of their business unless they go up to city hall and make it so, for their own information. But not to intimidate people into voting.

It was made even worse by the tone of the letter. And then doubling down on it. Yeah, it's a big deal.

Exactly. The establishment and suspect some on here are fanning the flames between the two camps to get their boy in, . Once one of them Cruz or Trump is out then they can direct all their attacks against one , thus letting Rubio in and hello open borders, time to learn Spanish.

This is so true: I can’t see Ted getting many votes hereafter until a potential win in TX on March 1. Then a permanent dry spell. I wish it were not so.

I like all the people in these threads making excuses for the “honorable Christian” Cruz campaign sending out a lying note to caucuses that Carson was out of the race AS THEY WERE CAUCUSING.

Hope if Cruz wins they’ve got four years of energy available to continuously excuse slimeball behavior. Sheesh.

Ben Carson: Ted, you cheated in Iowa.
Ted Cruz: Dearest Ben, Sorry about that.... Anyhoo... To God be the glory!!!

Stuff it! You know damn well the Cruz's team cheated. Don't be so damn foolish.

Rubio's team repeated this, too, because it was based on a CNN report.

Why isn't Trump criticizing Rubio?

And why, IF Carson's voters changed their vote, wouldn't they vote for Trump? Seems like if he were in their minds as a second choice, they would have.

Who does it take more gullibility to believe?

It’s up to the Carson campaign to have people on the ground to disspell untrue rumors. That’s how election day works, it’s extremely hectic and campaign people are under high pressure and time is of the essence and they jump at every rumor.

So either the Carson camp is looking for an excuse, or their campaign is so poorly run they weren’t prepared for this basic caucus day eventuality.

LOL come one we all know there are dumb voters, hell over 30% of them turned up on election night undecided. Seriously how could one not know who to vote for when the state has been bombarded for months.

Cruz apologized to Carson. He wouldn’t have done that if they weren’t guilty, he would have defended his team.

This is like the natural born citizen deal, doesn’t outright defend it because he can’t.
