Elections Rush Limbaugh: ‘Compared To Reagan, Trump Is Not A Conservative’ [VIDEO] Photo of Steve Guest Steve Guest Media Reporter 3:59 PM 11/24/2015 981

Radio host Rush Limbaugh said Tuesday that Donald Trump is “not a conservative” when compared with former President Ronald Reagan.

Limbaugh explained, that “compared to Reagan, Trump is not a conservative, and the bulk of Trump’s support is not the Republican base.”

“As we mentioned yesterday, if you look at the demographics, at least as expressed polling data, the bulk of Trump support is what we all have been led to believe the Republican Party wants: blue-collar people, moderates and independents,” suggested Limbaugh. “I mean there’s the fact that they don’t control Trump, and the real thing is they don’t have any money invested, and as such they have no say-so over what he does at all.”

I don’t think he is a sure thing. He will most likely lose the general, or it will be close enough for the Dems to steal it through fraud.

There won’t be enough fraud to take out Donald.

Only the constitution matters to me and anyone who doesn’t put it first and foremost will never ever get my vote period.

Which is exactly Donald Trump will never get my vote. Donald Trump puts himself first and foremost. He is the (allegedly) Republican version of Obama.

Actually, no. Congress hates Cruz. At best he gets Mike Lee to follow him, and often not even Lee. No, Ted would have a far worse time with Congress. At least Trump can go over their heads, go right over the media. Ted can't.

Trump's "whining" is a strategic device that is brilliant. It keeps him in the news cycle (how much have you heard about Yeb or Rubio in the news cycle? Why can't Ted get on TV much?). I have seen two separate linguistic/verbal analysts conclude that Trump's speech, his use of "whining," his "kill shots" on Carson and Fiorina and Bush were, in terms of their effectiveness, 100% effective.

I will certainly support Cruz if he wins, but I don't think he will.

the bulk of Trump's support is not the Republican base.

The same base of retards who gave us Denny Hastert and Laura Bush?

And this is somehow supposed to be bad news for Trump… really?

Disagree on your conclusions. I don’t trust Trump to tie his shoes. He has DONE nothing in his life that would demonstrate that he would be led by sincerely held conservative beliefs.

You make my point, we need Trump to straighten out the political mess and build the dang thing. Thank you.

At best he’s a big government republican with only 1 real area of opposition.

Here, on FR, often the definition of “true” conservative is oneself...☺.While Cruz or Trump may not be AS conservative as Reagan, they represent what I like pretty closely.

No, Trump puts himself first. That’s great for an entrepreneur, but terrible for a CiC.

As I read through these replies I am struck by how many trumpeter swans have twisted themselves into such a pretzel in an effort to convince themselves that Trump is who he SAYS he is that rather than debate (accept really...on this there is no debate) what Limbaugh is saying, they choose to attack the messenger. I observed this on a different thread too. The cult of personality is horrifically strong with Trump.

And all because he says he’s going to deport the illegals...which will not ever happen. If his ass makes it to the hot seat, the media fed public outcry will not allow it.

The president of these United States does not constitutionally speaking, repeat, DOES NOT have the power constitutionally to force this issue. I support the constitution, not the man.

I find Trump to be a pompous ass and revolting most of the time. I am still going to vote for him. He blows through PC crappola like a blue berries thru a goose.

These people dig tunnels under the border. It is irresponsible to think that government can solve this with a wall. We need boots on the ground, eyes in the air. Support with armed drones. A wall is a stupid, expensive exercise in futility.

He wasn’tdissong Trump—he was dissing the GOPe for trying to take down the one candidate that fits what they purportedly have been looking for. But because they don’t own him and can’t control him, they are hypocritical jackasses for trying to take out the very guy who could win the White House for them.

A conservative without the constitution is just a sliding scale progressive.
