Apparently whomever wrote this article at Oregon live, left out that a man on yik yak who threatened to shoot every black person, was a “black guy” making a joke on “yik yak”. (week ago, Michigan)
“At Missouri, posts were made on social media threatening to shoot black people after protests about racial issues on that campus. The posts followed the resignations of the University of Missouri system president and the chancellor. A white college student at another school was later arrested for making a terrorist threat.
Shepard said debate about the Western Washington’s mascot has come up on occasion and he welcomed the discussion.
Some students do not believe a white European man is a good representation of their school, but Shepard, who is retiring at the end of this academic year, said he doesn’t plan to change the mascot.
Patrick Eckroth, a WWU senior from Port Orchard, Washington, said there is a problem with racism at the school.
“The idea of having a critical conversation about our mascot and the reaction to that is a great illustration of the problem we have not just in our university, but in society,” said Eckroth, who is a member of the student government but said he was speaking personally, not as a student leader.”

Well, some of those degrees still have weight. Consider the folks doing research for their degrees in chemistry, physics, and engineering. I'm guessing they still went to their labs to work, even though classes were cancalled.
But the snowflakes in the poetry department, I bet they took the day off.

More like when they find out that the best they can do with a BS degree in “Grievance Studies” is get a part time job at Starbucks, and the pay REALLY sucks and doesn’t begin to cover the payments due on their student loan, much less anything else, and that they have to live in Mommy and Daddy’s basement, and no appealing member of the opposite sex will have squat to do with such a loser.

Aren’t most colleges out for the whole week? If not, then it was someone wanted out for longer than the schedule allowed.
This is the result of making college a "right". Instead of only the most academically inclined going to college, we have had to invent major fields of study such as gender studies, ethnic studies, etc. in order to ensure that those who can't handle actual fields of study such as math, science, business, and engineering could still get into college.
These idiots will starve if they have to compete anywhere outside of the comfortable womb of academia.
