who is this and why would it/he/she make such an ignorant remark? (and should we really care much? the mass media has generally so trivialized and distorted our public forum discourse so as to render it almost irrelevant to anything of importance to our society or nation, anyway)
I don’t watch awards show, for one thing because I don’t know anything about 90% of the nominees. My daughter had the Emmy’s on tonight and from the glimpses I caught it was boring as heck, they didn’t even play clips from the shows/people who won stuff, and the people seemed either drugged/drunk (Hello Lady Gaga and Tyrion)where are people’s souls? Or am I that out of touch?

Unfunny hosts, PC-approved shows inevitably winning and cameras in the face of audience members to gauge their reaction to the jokes ... which are unfunny ... and they're all doing the fake laugh because they have to. All artifice.
I believe it’s more insidious than that the stars are all (99%) liberal or so low info they just follow along. I believe the libs who make these shows hope that the Great TV Watching Audience will vote like the cool guys, laugh at the jokes of the cool guys.
I like awards shows. Some of the shows nominated tonight were shows I watch and enjoy. I like TV; the quality of entertainment is better than in movie theaters today.
And I can laugh at some of these jokes at these shows, but a lot of the stuff you have to wade through is so unbelievably biased and stupid. I can only groan as they worship Jon Liebowitz over and over and over. He won a bunch of awards tonight too for his defunct sarcastic mocking news show intended to turn all idiots into libs (and has had so much success).
And these black actresses who weep and weep when they win because blacks don’t stand a chance at anything in this country???? Is this 1942? She %^#^ graduated from Julliard! Not too many white people have the opportunities she has had. I don’t get it.
This is the only “humor” lefties are capable of.
“Bush is stupid” is one of their favorites.
“Palin is stupid” is another.
“Reagan is stupid” is their all time favorite.
“Hollywood is the biggest center of Groupthink on the planet.”
That’s a big reason why Hollywood universally turns out movies which are unwatchable dreck.
“Paula Deen is on this season of Dancing with the Stars, but I gotta say, if I wanted to see an intolerant lady dance, I would have gone to one of Kim Davis’s four weddings,” said the host.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid apologized Saturday for making racially insensitive remarks about Barack Obama during the presidential campaign.
Reid said Obama could be successful due to his “light-skinned appearance with no Negro dialect, unless he wants to have one.”
In a statement to CNN, Reid said, “I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words.
“I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African Americans for my improper comments.”
An aide to the senator told CNN that Reid offered apologies to several prominent African-Americans, including House Democrats Jim Clyburn of South Carolina and Barbara Lee of California; the Rev. Al Sharpton; CNN political contributor and Democratic strategist Donna Brazile; NAACP chairman Julian Bond; and the head of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, Wade Henderson.
Nevada’s state Senate Majority Leader Steven Horsford, who is African-American, reaffirmed his support for Reid in a statement Saturday.
“While I am disappointed in Senator Reid’s comment and choice of words, I accept his apology,” said Horsford, a Democrat.

I suspect that Bush's non-response had a lot to do with piss-poor advice from Karl Rove, Frank Luntz, etc.
I don't see any joke in there. But hey it's just the Emmys.... who watches except for the families of the nominees?
