Why Has Immigration Become Such A Bone Of Contention and Division
Canada Free Press ^ | 09/16/15 | Leigh Bravo

The push for the destruction of our current immigration laws has done nothing more than create a bone of contention and division within the American people on Immigration reform

Back in 2007, while President Obama was busy campaigning to become the first black president of the United States, the majority of Americans were fully in support of immigration reform, and a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants. Flash forward to 2015 and you will see unbelievable levels of contempt and refusal to accept anything less than mass deportation of all illegals. Why?

When President Obama took the oath of office in January of 2009, the House and the Senate of the United States was controlled by the Democrats. Obama campaigned for the hispanic vote by making multiple promises of not only addressing immigration, but permanently fixing the problem. He spoke on the issue March 27, 2008, on the Larry King show.

This is misleading obfuscation, frankly. I'd call it an outright lie. When informed of what "Immigration Reform" would really mean, Americans would NOT have 'fully supported" the BS assertion.

All it really took is one man to stand up and say "deport them" and a tsunami of support the likes of which had never been seen flooded the race. This is just BS dreaming.

“The push for the destruction of our current immigration laws”

The author has it backwards. The ‘push’ is to enforce laws, not destroy them.

We are still in favor of immigration; not illegal aliens invading our country.

LEGAL immigration, i.e., done in a formal and orderly manner, examining the credentials and history of the applicant, limiting the size of the flow coming in, and assuring that the applicant has every intention of becoming a good and useful addition to the loyal citizens already living in the country, no problem.

It is the multitude of cat burglars, thieves, liars and transients who have no good will toward the country they enter, that are the problem. And almost nothing is known about them until AFTER they have committed some grievous felony, there has been great economic and/or personal harm done to innocents, or other egregious misbehavior has been visited upon unsuspecting folks. And this is generally designated as ILLEGAL immigration. The illegal part does not stop with just the nefarious means of entry.

Starts with utter BS. Why bother reading the rest of it?

The contention is caused by our now quite fundamentally transformed country. The Hispanic fascists are contentious.

Citizen Hispanics are on our side for the most part, is my experience.

American voters are about to GET contentious.

The majority of American citizens are sick and tired of illegal immigrants. American taxpayers are saddled with educating their children, providing welfare payments, section 8 housing, housing their felons in prisons, free healthcare, giving them college educations etc. Deport the ingrates!

I don't think I know a single person who has an argument about immigration done right. Points are, we only want productive people who have a positive impact on the society we and our ancestors built from scratch. We don't want nor need just anyone who has a reason to believe life is better here. Not that we don't care, we just see the destruction it brings with it. We do not want our social or cultural norms to change, we do it this way for a reason.

The real issue here, and I rarely see anyone point these things out openly, is that this is an actual invasion. The majority of these people come here with an entitled attitude, as if we owe them and they own this ground just as much as anyone else. They have no intentions of blending in, learning English, or carrying their own weight without assistance. There isn't enough to go around when we have US veterans living in cardboard boxes and 20% of the adult population without a job. On top of that, most have every intention of abusing the system and morphing it into the very place that they left without regard for those who were already here and built this success. They are parasites, leeches... there is no other proper term for it. Whatever their motivation is for coming here is irrelevant.

I've actually been starting to research other countries and cultures to try to assist my boys is having alternative places to relocate, America will not be America in 50 more years. Japan looks somewhat appealing, but even there the culture is in decline. It's a rampant global problem and we see the results of it on TV every single day. EU is pretty much lost, never to recover. We are in line to be next and are well over half way, the point of no return. America will be a pseudo-socialist country in 50 years, I'd bet the bank on it. My outlook is not positive in any way. The damage is done, their illegal children are starting to come of voting age, in 10 more years, the problem will compound to rates where conservatism will be all but dead.

Complete BS. There has always been a solid 65-70% of the citizens against amnesty and for securing the border and enforcing the laws.
We melted the switchboard at the Capitol both times they tried to pass amnesty in 2006 and 2007.
We The People do not want to abandon the rule oflaw or surrender our country.

Anything that says we do is propaganda.

One of the best sources for US news going, along with the UK Daily Mail. You don't get all that anti-AMerican slant from the American mainstream media.

Um...because the left wants more illegals given citizenship assuming (probably correctly), that the majority of illegals will vote democrat.

Contentious? Well, it’s a power grab - what do you expect?!

Right on. Also CFP has American contributors who find an outlet for their views. The establishment dislikes the CFP. One person, a so-called conservative said the blog owner writes like a disoriented nine year old. You know when it is hyperbolic ad hominem ,it is often the left speaking. It is described as "right wing" on Wiki.

Just a little friendly info here.

And most of the LEGAL IMMIGRANTS — recent and not so recent — are fed up with watching their jobs go to the illegals as the country is destroyed. Many of THEM are expressing support for Trump.
