Is the Republican Party looking a gift horse in the mouth?

The Republican Party is facing a crisis. It has a candidate who is likely to win the nomination and could very well win the Presidential election. Yet they are doing their very best to see a repeat of the past two presidential cycles – nominating uninspiring candidates who have no chance of winning. The RNC would rather have a Democratic president, rather than support a reformer who would change the corrupt political structure of Washington. And they ignore the will of the people who are desperate to see that change happen....

Donald Trump has caught the imagination of not only conservative Republicans, but the country as a whole. When was the last time 25% of African Americans favored a Republican candidate? The RNC has never had an action plan to do that. Yet it is happening. The RNC is staring victory in the face but aiming for defeat. Its godchild Jeb Bush is facing a 7% polling number, a quarter of Trump's. He has tons of campaign money but it’s not working. He has loser painted all over his face

The ability of the GOP to screw anything up is uncanny. They can be counted on to be pretty much always wrong.

Yes but Maryland loves Carson.

You know Maryland where two of every three people work for the government or are dependent on it?

It’s all the same party....we have been saying that for a while now...

Now we have Trump and everybody, except Trump supporters, are having a melt down, going crazy, saying really off the wall crap...

Doesn’t bother us Trump Supporters, we know what we have, and we are behind him 100% all the way to the White House!!!

Carson? You mean the Alan Keyes of the twenty aught teens?

At least Alan was out on the front lines of abortion, facing jail time to show his morals.

The foolish old lady could have got $1 million from Trump. Instead the house sold for half of that in 2010.

It was 20 years ago. He didn't try to rob her or cheat her.

He said this in 2014:

"She could have lived happily ever after in Palm Beach, Florida; instead, she was an impossible person to deal with," Trump told The Associated Press this week. In addition to millions of dollars, he said, he had offered Coking housing for the rest of her life in one of his properties.

I assume he will say the same thing if asked about it now.

Trump could win most of the primaries and a large majority of the total vote but that does not guarantee that his name will be entered at the Convention. The RNC/DNC runs the Convention and has changed the rules for Bush.

Great! Thanks I hadn’t heard this. Wonder why CNN acted like it was going to be a big deal. Of course, the other night was one of maybe 3 times I ever had CNN on so not familiar with their tactics.

If, and that is a long shot, a Republican wins the Presidency, he will surely face a solid Democrat Congress and those Democrats will not whine about not being able to pass anything without controlling also the presidency. If the President is to be Bush then the Democrats WILL control the Presidency.

No one on FR offered a defense either, I don't think there is one.

Check back to comment #15, just before yours.

If the question is already slated to come up then Mr. Trump knows already that it will. I don’t expect it to slow him down even a little.

Whatever he says, it should ben short, concise, and non-defensive. He’ll may blame the city officials. Now is the time to get all the skeletons out of the closet.

Voters have short memories, and by the time the campaign gets underway it will be old news to be shrugged off as “asked and answered already”.

So, the RNC ignores the primary results and gives their preselected candidate the nomination. Who the hell will show up and vote in November for this preselected candidate?

She was offered $1 million by another developer previous to Trump. Trump offered her $2 million.

Then later real estate prices collapsed and her estate could not even get a half million for it.
