I've been trying to figure out why Rush is doing daily Trump clean up exercises (latest was his Friday deconstruction and then reframing of Trump's less than stellar performance on Hugh Hewitt's show), along with his breathless cheerleading; it's not the Rush Limbaugh Show anymore, it has become the The Donald Show.
Then this morning I read that Megachurch Pastor Paula White has married her 3rd husband (she's his 4th) = 6 marriages. I'd looked her up because she's a good friend of Donald Trump (promotes his books and he promotes her) who is going to arrange a sit down with Trump and other evangelical leaders.
So, it dawns on me this is a mutual promotion society we're watching.
Limbaugh's EIB audience (reportedly) has been shrinking recently, so what better way to build it back up with some new blood than by jumping on the Trump wave?
Trump tweets that Rush is talking about him and Rush reports that Trump is tweeting about him and they're off to the piggy bank races.

Limbaugh is at the top of the radio talkers and has been for nine or ten years at least. Ratings ‘decline’ is more related to the overall decline in the news-talk radio format. Hannity is a strong #2 radio talker.

What was most interesting to me about yesterday’s show was a woman who called in gloating over the fact that GLAAD and lesbians had been able to accomplish what liberal men had been unable to do - the “dumbing down” and corrupting of our culture so that young people today no longer think that the US is “exceptional”. It was both disgusting and horrible!

Reagan was a successful two-term governor of the nation’s largest state with an economy then the 7th largest in the world. He was a writer and speaker for conservative causes for 16 years before becoming President. Trump’s held no elective office. He has supported verbally and financially the Democrat Party recently. You may have too. Real conservatives don’t do that.
So how did Obama become President then by your analysis?
I don’t recall seeing anything in the Constitution that says you have to have prior Elective Political experience before running for president.

Of course Rush is going to spend a lot of time on Donald Trump. Trump is dominating the news cycle and unlike other presidential candidates, who are hiding behind a curtain of handlers, he is making himself accessible to the media virtually 24/7.
Every since Rush Limbaugh came to the airwaves as a talk show host, his bread and butter has been covering current events. And Donald Trump is dominating the news cycle at this time.

He seems to have fallen off of the radar, so you’re trying - like so many of the GOPe try to do - hitch him to not only Trump’s wagon, but Rush’s, as well.
You Trump haters are more strident on Trump than you are on obama, or ever have been on obama.
What is it that grinds you on Trump? You’ve been on Free Republic for a long time .. why have you turned into such a hard hitting, unrelenting, critic of Donald Trump. Why have you singled out Rush? It’s his microphone... he can do what he wants with it.
I see hope for the first time since 2008. I see a man who has the back bone we so need to stop the GOP, the dems and the media from destroying our country. Trump loves the USA.. so does Rush.
Trumps ability to tell the media where to go is refreshing. I’d like for him to take on any critic in a smoother way, but he has them running scared and so it’s working.
I like Walker. I like Dr Carson. But at this time, we need someone who can take on all the cartel that runs Washington and our liberal, destructive, anti Christian government. A man who is not owned by the fat cats. A man who isn’t beholden to his owners. A man who won’t make promises he knows he can’t keep if he’s been bought and paid for by donors/lobbyists.

Anyone can have any criteria he wants to decide what makes one a real conservative. In your mind, or as you state it, conservatives give money to liberals to get them elected. I say they don’t. We’ll have to agree to disagree.
No one listens to Rush more than I do, or has for a longer time. You're off base with this accusation. Rush talks about whatever is leading the news, and is INTERESTING to him. Right now? That's Trump.
Who wants to hear Hillary tripe all day? Who else is making ANY news?
When they do, Rush will talk about them. Until then, expect more. Trump is hilarious.... He makes for good content. And, like many of us.... I think Rush is starting to believe that Trump might actually pull this off.

He has been disgusted with the cowardice of the Republicans. His ‘support’ of Trump is limited to the fact that he is the only one showing real bravery.

Seems you only see what you want to see and if it’s not there you twist it until you do. Your comment is incorrect and I never stated that. Please us my comment’s correctly. People give money to both sides to gain favors when needed, no different than hedging a bet or an investment.
