The Gulag Archipelago by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn is a historical record of the Soviet era work camps, police state and subtle oppressions and outright torture under the Russian government between the First World War and 1956. What are some of the lessons we can draw from this book? What have too many forgotten of the death camps of the Soviet Union?
I agree 100%.
A seminal work. It definitely sharpened me politically much in the way Whittaker Chambers “Witness” changed me.
Excellent excerpt.
I have always wondered whether we will know when to act.
I like how he said “subtle oppressions”.
When Lenin & Stalin and the rest of the communists kill 100 million people it is not subtle!
Mass killings under Communist regimes
In official study materials published in 1948, Mao envisaged that “one-tenth of the peasants” (or about 50,000,000) “would have to be destroyed” to facilitate agrarian reform.

Keep in mind that obamas friend the mass murderer terrorist Bill Ayers said that 25 million Americans would need to be killed to pacify the takeover by them. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3175524/posts The way they are doing so now. See obamacare death panels and abortion.
My Father gave me this book many years ago and it cleared up any misconceptions that I had regarding communism and clarified my hatred for that system.
The sane could have been said of the Jews in Europe...
And maybe; just maybe; the Americans of the future.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name,
shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways; ,
then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land.
If we do NOT know what the evil is by now...
I suggest you want to read lessons from the roundup of the Jews as well. Reading “Night” by Elie Wiesel will give you lessons you will never forget. Also his acceptance of the Nobel prize (A real winner of the peace prize) speech speaks to us of the current threat of ISIS/ISIL and our moral responsibility to react!
I have always wondered whether we will know when to act.
When to act? I think if they declare Martial Law and start knocking down doors. . or if they suspend the 2nd Amendment. . or if somehow Bush gets the nomination and Hillary wins the election?
It's obvious she is not the favorite of the majority of Americans. She is a Fabian socialist to the core. We don't need another eight years of Obama. If that happens, we're done.
If somehow, by MSM low information voter indoctrination, voter fraud and vote machine fixing, she gets elected. . well, we'll have to think long and hard if that happens. .
I think the majority of Americans will 'know' when the time to act comes. I think most people want to do something now but are waiting to see how the November 8, 2016 comes out.
We'll continue to Pray for America and prepare in the meantime.
And in the meantime; preach the Gospel and get men SAVED!
(Conservatism is the only Hope for Western Civilization.)
Nah...
JESUS is!
Thanks for the post. BTTT for those that missed it.
It is where they took the sheople to.
The ones they told to be silent and they listened.
There is one for all of us if we do not speak up.
