Ted Cruz and Donald Trump have united to fight the Iran nuclear agreement.
On Thursday, the Texas senator invited the real estate mogul to join him in rallying against the deal on the Capitol grounds, and Trump accepted.
The two Republican presidential candidates said they would do “something very big over the next two weeks in Washington.”
Trump made his announcement after a campaign rally in South Carolina, referring to Cruz as “a friend of mine and a good guy.”
The event will be sponsored by Tea Party Patriots, the Center for Security Policy, and the Zionist Organization of America, campaign spokesman Catherine Frazier told The Blaze.
“We are thankful for all their hard work on this effort, and will have more details on time, date, and location as they are finalized,” she said.
Trump, author of “The Art of the Deal,” also gave his thoughts on the Iran deal.
“By the way, even if you break it up, they are going to get $150 billion,” he said. “You know what I’d do? I wouldn’t give them the money. I don’t care what the deal — I would not give them the money.”244100#ixzz3k7FgqQja

95% of me loves it; 5% of me is paranoid that Trump sucked Cruz in at the behest of Hitlary and the GOPe to get rid of Cruz...
I think you’ve got the 95% part right. If this were a Hitlary scheme, they would have gone after:
1. Carson - the only one currently polling in double digits behind Trump and somebody Trump hasn’t lambasted.
2. Rubio - the candidate who currently polls with the highest favorability rating of all the candidates.
I don’t think Hillary, at this point at least, is all that concerned about Cruz.
Also, imho, while they may do a few things together that are cool, I would highly doubt it’s going to be something like a VP announcement this early on.
Ted Cruz voted against Cloture on the Corker Bill and fought it all the way until cloture was passed and then voted for the bill because it at least delayed the deal until Congress had a chance to review it.
The issue is not a bill in Congress.
The issue is hundreds of billions of dollars on the table to be released.
Obama had told Congress that he would go to the UN to release the billions if they didn’t give him a bill. He lied, he went to the UN anyways.
Ted Cruz has the back of Israel and vice versa. His vote on the Iran deal was to delay the release of the billions.
Senator Jeff Sessions also voted for the Corker Bill for the same reasons. It gave Congress a chance to delay Obama.
What double-babble—he was against it, before he was for it, and now he’s against what it will bring about.
And we’re supposed to expect Cruz to believe Obama?
Please! I suppose you want to defend his defense of the TPA/TPP too?
Strategically, it might make sense to invite all the candidates to participate in this. The one who issues the invitation ….. 1. Is demonstrating that he has nothing to fear from the other candidates, 2. Is demonstrating that since it was he who issued the invitation, he is the leader by definition. 3. Puts the other candidates in a bit of a quandary and awkward position since it would hurt them if they refuse to join the rally and 4. Is showing that while they all want to be the nominee and need to beat up on each other to get there, a display of a united front to the party is important particularly on this issue since after all, it’s really the other party that they need to beat.
All those candidates? Can they handle a crowd that size??

Ted Cruz has been focusing on Evangelicals in flyover country and grassroots townhalls. Polling oversamples urban regions and misses a lot of flyover country.
Ted’s polling results have been steadily rising. And because of the passion he has he is able to persuade a lot of people sitting on the fence to support him. He turns people around better than any other candidate save Trump. He does not rely on the MSM. He travels the countryside and creates excitement wherever he goes. People come out in droves to see him and those who never heard him leave his campaign rallies convinced he is the right candidate for America.
Ted’s campaign strategy is to fire up support among flyover evangelicals, grassroots and patriots that comprise 54 million people who did not vote in the last presidential election.

I have no idea.....but I think that this is one issue that the entire party would benefit from a united candidate front. It sure would generate an incredible amount of positive attention. Then after the tide has raised all the boats (on the Republican side), the candidates can get back to the business of beating each other up to be the nominee.

Totally agree. Cruz needs some more experience and Trump would ensure he gets it, then turn over the following 4 years to him.

He would be running at the same age McCain did in 2008 and McCain would still be serving.
Trump’s mother and father lived to be 88 and 94 respectively. With his genes he could possibly serve 2 terms.
The chances of The Don being a second banana are about the same as Salma Hayek dumping her billionaire husband and calling me for a date.

I could accept it either way. If Trump gets the nomination I want Cruz in there to keep the constitution on line. You can’t do better in this day and age than to have a conservative Ivy League government constitutional lawyer as your VP when you are as aggressive as Trump. But I would fear Trump getting into the White House without a conservative, pro-Christian, Cruz by his side.
The other way around would be better - Cruz/Trump. Cruz could restore the constitution and repeal all the bad EO’s while Trump cleaned up the trade mess with Cruz’s cooperation.
How about Trumpets and Cruzets?
