This is not to say they're conservatives or patriots. Far from it. It's the difference between being an ideologue versus having a realpolitik frame of mind. Think of what it takes to be a billionaire. If we accept the premise that free-market capitalism is the highest form of exchange between people then they have mastered it. Given that, how many of us believe that what concerns a billionaire is Hillary Clinton and her unwavering support of Planned Parenthood? True, billionaires can afford the luxury of their politics but I suspect that for many of them there is an overriding factor: the continuing dominance of the United States.
If we accept what Dinesh D'Souza says in that Obama has sought to alter the global order and end the era of American supremacy in favor of a pre-WWI global construct I can't envision a billionaire would accept that. Considering that US dominance is the guarantor of free markets, trade and peace. The question then, is what about Hillary? Despite her left-wing ideology is there an element of realpolitik to her views of the world that a billionaire finds acceptable? Or will she just be a continuation of Obama's foreign policy outlook?
Cruz has pulled in some billionaire cash, but so has Hillary. The only way this conspiracy works is if there is no alternative to Ted Cruz. Follow the money. Hillary receives billionaire money therefore they believe they can maintain America's place in the world while advancing their pet ideological projects.
