You haven’t caught a hot Michigan summer yet. Nothing more fun than 105 degrees with 95% humidity.
Up here it has been only as high as 85 and averages 40-50% humidity.
And notice they never say the number of employed has increased. Like that is a difficult number to conjure only through imploring spirits to share mystical data during brief blue moons. They know how many people are having payroll taxes paid to single digits yet they never reveal that number or even mention it. Instead we must sift through perpetual penumbras of data that is trivial, misleading, or irrelevant to speculate about the magnitude of the “recovery”.
I have had enough. I swear I have.
Another thing I don’t understand. Trump admitting he pays bribes to “get things done”. I have to say it seems obvious to me that anyone who feels they have the authority over me to require a bribe would also have the ability to request I pound sand when they fail to deliver.
I remember living in Michigan in 70's and one of my uncles was let go from his factory -- He was "ashamed" to have to collect unemployment, he was literally ashamed and worked every odd farm job he could find until he found a more stable factory job in order to NOT have to accept unemployment. That lesson left an indelible mark on this young man's life, one that I will never forget. Where have those times gone. Where are those men today?
The last 3 summers have been pretty cool but 4 years ago was a horror show where the dewpoint was over 90 degrees.
Yes.
Or own businesses
Read between the lines
20 weeks and you’re off unemployment and it’s the time to get a job
Geez what a heartless concept
Sarc
I have been so used to Democrat House and Senate and even in the case of a House Republican (appeasing) extending these time limits I forgot. :0)
Meanwhile, last week in Northern AZ:
(Apologies for the lousy pic)
So total non farm and private employment up 80,000 to 100,000 over a year ago. Maybe a 1-2% increase in total employed. Considering flow into and out of the workforce (graduates vs retires and deaths) just less than break even. Some recovery. That is why those figures are not in the article while mystical penumbras are pondered speculatively. That ain’t journalism it is propaganda.
We have always been at war with East Asia.
But its a dry heat. lol
Lot of under the table business being done in Michigan these days.
My heating and A/C guy was laid off from the company he worked for but he’s still my heating and A/C guy.
Yeah, but 110 is still 110. It ain’t no picnic!
If the unemployment rate is 4 percent and increases to 6 percent that may not seem like a big increase, only 2 percentage points. However, it can produce a significant increase in claims numbersa 33 percent increase in this example.
Wouldn’t a change from 4% to 6% be an increase of 50% in claims not 33%? No wonder we have such a hard time understanding their numbers and math!
This may mean nothing more than they have exhausted their unemployment benefits and were dropped from the rolls. Happens everyday all across America and the demonrats point to it as a success.
wondering if my fence guy is on the same trend.
Right, if unemployment decreased but EBT payouts skyrocketed then what is the difference? Only real measurement of success/failure is total dollars flowing from those who work to those who don't.
