If youre one of those people who believes theres no such thing as a coincidence, youre my kind of cynic. And yesterday was your kind of day: The Wall Street Journal, United Airlines, New York Stock Exchange all with computer glitches? I think not.
Do you think its a coincidence that Americas spelling has deteriorated since we adopted Common Core standards? Pleaze diskuss amongst yerselves.
Thats right, fresh crap every day.

I am appalled at the spelling I see everywhere AND on Free Republic. If anything is said, people go crazy. No one will tolerate correction anymore.
Ur prolly rite.
My spelling is terrible but I happily accept correction.
Jesus said that in the end times “everyone would be offended by everything” and that is certainly the case today.
Do you have a bible cite for this? I'm not disagreeing with you but that's a verse I'd like to keep in my back pocket to have available to use in debates with the libs.
My father is a retired engineer. My mother was an English major. The worst fights I ever recall them having were all over his spelling.
Sausage fingers poking mini-alphabet icons on a 2.5”x4”screen, on a device with a recalcitrant spell-check function, viewed through bifocal glasses. That’s part of the problem.
The other is lack of proof-reading. And, who has time for that?
Excellent!
You mean the two seconds it takes to read over your post in the preview screen, before you hit the post key? Everybody has time for that. Otherwise you make the forum look bad.
I understand the spelling is often a typo, but what gets me is improper usage of there, their and they’re. In many cases they’re so anxious to get their post in they don’t bother to run a spell-checker, or their grammar is so poor that they simply do not know how to construct a proper sentence.
Correct spelling is something that can be fixed, corrected, or edited for content, ahem.
It has been a very long time running joke about ‘spellchecker’ programs, and now, too, the usage of programs that ‘guess’ to complete the word of intent.
There is one point of focus that has been overlooked. It is the combination of:
a baby boomer;
coffee;
steadiness of hand;
location of keyboard, whether in lap or on desk;
finally, the frenzy of attempting to communicate the enormous feeling and flow of thought at a speed that defies ‘guess checking’ and/or correct placing of fingers, without always hitting the *&*^%&$!! backspace key!
How’s that arrogance normally work for you?
I’m guessing...not too good.
Hilarious!
You think that was arrogant? Really?
*Shrug*
