The US Women's National Soccer team played a superb, thrilling game against powerhouse Germany yesterday, coming away with a 2-0 win, and a spot in the finals this weekend. And coming on the 4th of July weekend, it couldn't be a better all around-feel-good story. The huge crowd sported every form of red, white, and blue attire imaginable, and displayed their colors proudly at every opportunity. Cheers of "USA!, USA" filled the stadium. But if you take a closer look, beyond the excitement of the game, you'll notice that something's very wrong, and very lacking, at USA soccer.
OK, then, what's wrong with these pics?
The teams doesn't resemble Obama's America, that's for sure.. While there might be one or two players with a mixed racial/ethnic background, overall, that's a loaf of 23 slices of good-looking white bread.
So, where's Rev Al? The Congressional Black Caucus? NBC? Macy's? Baltimore Mayor Stephanie (I'm an idiot) Rawlings-Blake?
How could Obama actually Tweet out congratulations to an organization that so obviously discriminates against blacks, and latinos. (It does appear that the LGBT community is down with the team, as several players, including star Abby Wambach, are openly gay.)
But what's the matter with the rest of you?
Or, to put in in words that even Marilyn Mosely can comprehend:
"Don't black wingbacks, sweepers, and midfielders matter?"

The supreme court should invent a law to prevent this- tie it in to gay marriage somehow- I’m sure with a little mental gymnastics they can tie the two together making it illegal for there to be an all white team... somehow-... someway

The coaches wanted to win and chose the best players.
But there are no confederate flags so everything is ok.

Give it a little time. There are already some crossing gender lines in sports to “play alongside those they identify with”.
If players should be chosen because of race?
I suspect that, uh, at least some of them are lesbians so that makes it OK.
Most NBA teams are close to 100% black. Where’s the cries for the lack of diversity there?
