The Supreme Court has told us that the U.S. is not our home; were exiles.
Rod Dreher of the American Conservative got to write an op-ed for Time Magazine: Orthodox Christians Must Now Learn to Live as Exiles in Our Own Country.
It is hard to overstate the significance of the Obergefell decision and the seriousness of the challenges it presents to orthodox Christians and other social conservatives. Voting Republican and other failed culture war strategies are not going to save us now.
Discerning the meaning of the present moment requires sobriety, precisely because its radicalism requires of conservatives a realistic sense of how weak our position is in post-Christian America.
For about as long as I can recall, Christians in America have glibly said that this world is not our home. Now, Rod Dreher is absolutely correct that we are going to be a lot less glib about that truththe reprobate, debased mind of Romans 1 is here, and its not content with tolerance.

The alarm that the four dissenting justices sounded in their minority opinions is chilling. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Antonin Scalia were particularly scathing in pointing out the philosophical and historical groundlessness of the majoritys opinion. Justice Scalia even called the decision a threat to democracy, and denounced it, shockingly, in the language of revolution.
Philosophical and historical groundlessness. Yes, that sums it up well. Supreme Court justices are among the most educated individuals in our society, yet the irrationality and nonsense of their decision is stunning.
One encouraging outcome I foresee is that the Prosperity Gospel/Word-Faith/Positive Confession error will not survive this coming heat. Those whose belief inclues a Divine Right, to earthly health and wealth will either have to dig deeper into their Bibles, or abandon a pretense of the faith, entirely.
John Piper has often called America Disneyland for Christiansa total aberration in the Churchs history of living amidst the reality that all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted (2 Timothy 3:12). The Supreme Court announced on June 26 that Disneyland is closing.

Could America end up being fertile missionary soil for Christian from outside the country?
