On June 26, the Huffington Post ran a column focused on how Australian comedian Jim Jefferies shoots down [the] 2nd Amendment with humor.
A central component of this humor is to equate gun rights with slavery and talk about how a constitutional amendmentlike the one that banned slaverycould be used to overturn the protections the Second Amendment affords to the rights of self-defense and bearing arms.
After all, Jefferies makes clear that he does not believe guns are actually used for protection. And he tells an anecdotal story to explain why:
I had a break in in Manchester, England where I was tied up. I had my head cut. They threatened to rape my girlfriend. They came through the window with a machete and hammer. Americans always go, Imagine if you had a gun. Alright, I was naked at the time. I wasnt wearing my holster. I was staring at the window waiting for machetes to come through.
Jefferies punchline for this story: What world do you live in where you are waiting, constantly [expletive] ready?(continued)

And his opinion is significant because......?
Where would Mr. Obama or anyone else, find enough police or troops to simultaneously raid around 150 million households? And if somehow those personnel were magically to appear, how many of them would die themselves in those raids? And it doesn’t require a gun to kill or maim such a confiscation team. Bats, golf clubs, brooms, tire irons, knives, walking sticks, canes, machetes, hammers and crow bars are used to kill people every day. Not to mention bows & arrows, boiling water, air guns, thrown chemicals, lit hairspray, fists and boots, heavy objects and dogs.
if that happens? I wont go down alone....
hate it except for South Park and Futurama. they should call it Leftist Comedy Central
He should probably concern himself more with learning to speak chinese.
Consider this; the minds of those who would rule us are so haunted by the hobgoblin of private gun ownership that even those who complied with registration/confiscation would be suspect of holding out and would be brought in for truthfull redendition.
Rendition. Sorry!
I liked Futurama very much, but for me when a series has a final finale, I just lose interest in it. Can’t explain it. But there it is! (in my best Jeff Goldblum)
I think it is well-past time for Jefferies to return to Australia.
We’ll start with the Secret Service.
Sure, because I always listen to some not so funny Aussie comedian reprimand US laws. There’s the boat, jerk, get on it and don’t come back.
Then what is all this military training door to door all about?
I hear what you are saying, they haven’t the personnel to do such a thing/
Don’t bet on it.
Would you have ever thought our military leaders would let themselves become a social experiment?
Yes. If I hear about guns being confiscated I will sit alone at home waiting for my turn to face the confiscators; outnumbered and outgunned. I wouldn't be so foolish as to take the fight to the enemy and surprise them in their sleep as they might try to do to me. It wouldn't be fair. And I certainly want to be fair.
The current total military in this country (active duty, guard and reserves) is about 1.5 million. There are more registered hunters in most states than that. There are 765,000 sworn full-time officers and about 44,000 part-time officers at the state and local level. Additionally, there are around 120,000 federal officers.
Don’t worry, once gun rights go away slavery will be back.
Who probably is escorted by armed bodyguards....
