Just a quick look at Reno indicates a guilt ridden but probably non observant and good works type who lives up north and is youngish and likely single and considers himself urbane

Ike, who knew what real Nazis were, (and knew American history as well) prominently displayed portraits of both Lee and Jackson on his office walls.
The South haters we run into are something new. I’m old enough to remember the Centennial of the Civil War and you never heard the sort of stuff we routinely see on this site. Maybe the extreme Left but it wasn’t mainstream in the culture.
