If you think a marriage to Ramsay Bolton will have a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention.
Not to mention the Dorne story, that is starting to border on Silly, The Sand Snakes Remind me of my Teenage Cousins.
I fear the Composite Character arc in Season 5 has done so poorly and creates such incoherent characterization that it becomes funny to see characters like Sansa suddenly sacrificing development and basic logic to become that other minor character, that I commend Sophie Turner for playing two different characters at the same time and shifting personalities in the middle of the same scene!

The Sansa rape scene didn’t bother me at all to be honest.
Shireen being burned to death was REALLY HARD TO WATCH though. She was without a doubt one of my favorite characters.
Now the Dorne plotline is a COMPLETE WASTE OF SPACE! I mean what the Hell..
I wish they would have just stuck with the Dornish prince traveling to Mereen to try and nab one of the dragons for Dorne and being burnt to a crisp.
That would have been much better.
I have no idea what they are trying to achieve with this Jamie and Bronn to Dorne nonsense.
I guess they had to have something with Jamie in it since he is not Lady Stoneheart’s prisoner... but man, that Jamie/ Bronn plot line was so poorly done ;/

For those who don't know: the actor who played Ser Ilyn Paine, Wilko Johnson, was diagnosed with terminal cancer of the pancreas -- good news, the tumor was successfully removed. Payne was supposed to spar with Jamie after he lost his hand, but replacing him with Bronn works great, and Bronn can actually speak.
yeah, I had heard about Wilko’s cancer, and I am very happy to hear about a positive resolution. I was not aware of this, so I thank you for the news.
Wilko was perfectly cast as Ser Ilyn Paine as well, like he was created for the part.
And I agree that using Bronn in his place is a good substitute. Bronn is known to be a skilled fighter, so it makes sense.
I just find the choice of Dornish plot line that they went with kinda lame, but yeah Jamie does have to be somewhere, because being that Lady Stoneheart is absent, he obviously can’t be where he is supposed to be.
I don’t HATE the chosen Dornish plot line, I am just not particularly impressed with it.
I do like the actor portraying Doran Martell though. Good selection, good performance.
That hasn’t happened in published books (yet), but on the other hand Stannis’s character was made much less sympathetic in the books. Maybe it is just the actor that made people like him. He is far less likable in the books.
Did this come up in the dialogue? No one has commented on it yet. The tv version places great weight on Melisandre's belief in the power of the blood of kings, but the Azor Ahai issue is something quite different. The tv version hasn't set this up, but if it's integral to GRMM's plot outline, it has to be introduced at some point.
I would be surprised if Stannis turned out to be Azor Ahai, but GRRM is in the surprise business. This is why he complicates the narrative with so many characters, many of whom are false leads, and disposable.
It is also worth remembering that, in the book version, burnings are not always what they seem.
Very good points. I don’t think we’ve seen any cases of “glamoring” in the TV series - except for the Faceless Men. They haven’t really gotten into the details of Azor Ahai much, but what happened with Shireen seems unrelated to that prophecy. It all seemed to be about Shireen and her having “king’s blood” in order to get the weather to clear up for them.
According to the show's producers, this particular plot point came from Martin, though it hasn't been in the books yet.
yeah, he’s a harsh individual, but burning your own daughter to death? Especially a daughter like Shireen?

That really is a whole different level of harsh, I mean thus far I’d have to say it’s the single worst act I can think of in Westeros.
Stannis is THE villain now. Now one else even comes close to his level of Evil.
He didn’t come across this depraved in the books. Maybe he is supposed to be and Martin just miscommunicated Stannis’ true nature up to now, but it’s a shocker to me.
I wasn’t expecting that, gotta say.
He believes he is Azor Ahai reborn and that guy killed his wife to make his flaming sword.
You know I had forgotten all about that. It’s been awhile since I have read the books.
And wasn’t it Melisandre causing the illusion of the flaming sword? I seem to recall that being the case.
Maester Aemon at least said that Stannis’s flaming sword was not proper as the real one was supposed to give heat also.
Right, right, I remember that being said about Stannis’ sword.
He really shoulda ditched Melisandre. She’s not doing him any favors at all, at least as far as the TV series is concerned.
But it seems way too late now.
