Just as an exercise in curiosity, I’m going to try to think like a socialist. And since I really have no earthly idea how socialists come up with the ideas they embrace, I’m going to let Bernie Sanders get me rolling. Tell me, Bernie, your thoughts on economic growth:
The whole size of the economy and the GDP doesn’t matter if people continue to work longer hours for low wages and you have 45 million people living in poverty. You can’t just continue growth for the sake of growth in a world in which we are struggling with climate change and all kinds of environmental problems. All right? You don’t necessarily need a choice of 23 underarm spray deodorants or of 18 different pairs of sneakers when children are hungry in this country. I don’t think the media appreciates the kind of stress that ordinary Americans are working on. People scared to death about what happens tomorrow.
So let me see if I have this straight: Children are hungry, and hungry people need food, but there isn’t enough food for them because, instead of producing food, 23 different companies are making spray deodorant, and 18 different companies are making sneakers. Why, they could be producing food!

And by golly, how many different kinds of coffee do we need at Starbucks? tall, grande, venti? I can’t keep them straight. One size for all! And c’mon, mocha, macchiato, muffulato...cafe American with a double shot of espresso, vanilla latte chai? How many freakin’ different drinks do we need from Starbucks? Isn’t a plain, old cup of coffee sufficent?
If you ask Bernie, they just weren't trying hard enough. This why I'd rather go down with a pile of spent cartridge casings at my feet than submit to the sick, murderous utopian dreams of the likes of Bernie Sanders. He and everyone like him needs to join the Ceausescus and Mussolini and his mistress in the annals of history.

It’s just classic 19th century socialism. You can read the same ideas in Upton Sinclair (The Jungle) and the Helicon Hall Colony back in the early 1900s. That’s the thing about Bernie Sanders. Of course, the American “poor” are actually rich, when compared to most people in the world. In Europe, air conditioning is a luxury. Most American parasites have at least one car, big screen TV, free housing, food, (and air conditioning)
