I received the bill for a single porcelain crown today. It was almost $900. That got me to thinking, what would it cost if you had to pay for all of your body parts one piece at a time?
At today's prices, probably way more than a lot of us are worth. God sure was good to us. He gave most of us all the body parts we needed for free. Of course good ol' mom and dad helped!
Just something to be thankful for and a break from thinking about all the trouble in the world today.
Maybe 75 dollars.
If you buy the basic building blocks.
45 kg water ( tap is free)
16 kg carbon 24$
Nitrogen 1.8kg 25$
Calcium 1.0kg 20$
Trace elements
Well - back in the 70's , my parts were worth a lot more !
The right lobe of my liver was free when they put it in my brother. I was paid the greatest price of all, he loved me and I loved him.
What... about five bucks worth of chemicals?
“That depends... what the going rate for a piece of ass?”
Prime? Choice? Or, grade five but suitable for human consumption?
I could put myself on eBay and find out.
Heh, well, for years I had badly chipped teeth on all four of my front teeth (friend hit me in teeth by accident with a hammer when I was 12) and I went through all manner of attempts to fix the two worst ones (on the top) over the years, finally culminating in state of the art crowns that were light years better than the crowns I had put on back in the early eighties that didn’t look right, didn’t feel right, and came off at the most inopportune times.
The ones I have had for a few years now are like my real teeth, and they feel and look that way...I would have paid four times the cost to get them!
I suspect I would feel much the same with a variety of other body parts...:) My teeth are involved in comfort and cosmetic, but just imagine a liver, heart or kidney!
Well, you have a point; I got engaged in February and mine is ALMOST that big! :)
Having the breath of God animate things may boost the worth a bit.....
