The National Football League will play regular-season games in Germany and Mexico within five years if Pittsburgh Steelers president Art Rooney II has his way.
Rooney, among the owners on the NFL's International Committee, said in a posting on the team's website that he thinks the expansion of the league's global exposure will come by 2020.

But Rooney dimmed the hopes that England might see its own NFL team any time soon.
When it comes to sports I’m thinking that less is more.
The biggest problem in baseball is that there are too many teams and one of the biggest problems in NASCAR is that there are too many tracks.
I’m all for moving that crap sandwich (the NFL) out of America.
I think the other football is going to displace the NFL as the USA becomes a nation predominantly composed of illegals who vote.
They’ve already played regular season games in Mexico.
And that will be the beginning of the end of the league.
While it may not be obvious, the NFL’s recent moves to court women, hispanics and now international markets, suggests strongly that their core audience is growing less enthusiastic. This is a survival move for the long term.
Mexico really isn’t safe for foreign travel. Far too many horror stories of US citizens going down their. You have to fear both the criminals and the law.
Yet, they can’t figure out how to get to Los Angeles.
The NFL can’t grow any farther with it’s core male demographic. So, they reach out for women with feminized rules. Now they want to go international. There will be a Mexican team in a few years.
Will they inflate the balls in PSI or Kilo pascals?
NFL has peaked and is alive only because young people play fantasy and the older still gamble
What “feminized rules” are those?
There are cities in the USA - Seattle is one of them - where soccer games can draw upwards of 40,000 people, and most of those people are under 35. In 10-15 years, soccer could overtake major league baseball in popularity in some cities.
Will there be anyone left in Mexico who can afford the tickets?
Will there be anyone in Mexico to watch the games?
ROTFLMAO. Too funny. I was eating peanuts and spit them all over the place. That was a laugh I needed today.
Restrictions on where and how the QB can be hit, more protective rules on hitting defenseless players, penalties for scoring celebration, etc. Personally I think overruling on the instant replay qualifies.
There is an old pic of Y.A. Tittle that makes my point. Google: y a tittle bloody photo
