(May 23, 2015) In a 187-page filing made on Friday, Maricopa County, AZ Sheriff Joseph M. Arpaio and his chief deputy, Gerard Sheridan, asked U.S. District Court Judge G. Murray Snow to recuse himself from a contempt case stemming from a December 2007 lawsuit...
As a result of Arpaio and Sheridan’s filing on Friday, Snow canceled status hearings scheduled for May 29 and June 12, although he asked all parties to reserve the remaining June dates, beginning on the 16th, on which the trial is scheduled to resume.

This should have resulted in Judge Snow recusing himself to avoid any appearance of conflict of interest and a prior request for recusal to the higher appeals court was turned down by a three judge panel, but now a new more formal request (a 187-page one!) is being made with the NEW shocking claim that the court appointed MONITOR has been asked to investigate Arpaio's evidence regarding Barry's BC!!!

Correctly initiating an investigation of the judge? Ha! IF an investigation of the judge had been warranted, Arpaio should have demanded an independent investigation, not just hired a private investigator to investigate the judge. You want to talk about a conflict of interest? There it is.
Take off your blinders - Arpaio screwed this one up, bad. Heck, his own lawyer resigned saying that he could no longer ethically represent him - any lawyer knows that that is a HUGE red flag.
Snow is going to get removed if he doesn’t do it himself.

I was surprised to see the appeals court turn down the first request of a demand for removal of Snow...
I think Arpaio was trying make a preliminary investigation to see if there was even enough of a case there to pass off to an independent investigator and there wasn’t one!
People’s spouses say a lot of stupid things, especially when they are drunk!
In this case, the Judge elicited comments from a witness in open court after the fact involving his own wife! Now the judge is responsible for what HE does about his own appearance of conflict of interest.
Arpaio was already in the clear having acted properly prior to this trail as far as I am concerned, but IANAL.
Arpaio's lawyer(s) primed the pump. Prepping the 9th circuit with Montgomery, and then hit them with this appeal with sharpened teeth. Good job.

IANAL so I don’t know/can’t recall how these things work for a federal judge. I suppose that the Circuit Court of Appeals over his district could bounce him?
Depends on how many of Barry’s appointees are packed into the decision-making process on the panel that has to make the decision or on how much dirt the Chicago gang behind Barry has on them...
