Yeah, I can’t help but draw certain comparisons to what happened in S. Africa to the Afrikaners and what some are suggesting in this country.

The original slaves were often mistreated and they endured discrimination. However they became 2nd class citizens in a first class country. Their standard of living was vastly improved compared to being a slave in Africa.
Descendants of slaves enjoyed a much improved standard of living but endured discrimination for over a hundred years. It is terrible how blacks were treated in this country but they were still better off compared to being slaves in Africa. The current generation of blacks really have it made compared to Africans. I see no case for reparations. The descendants of American slaves are lucky compared to descendants of African slaves that remained in Africa.
Unfortunately, this is what it will come to. Those who are not prepared to face this reality will be in for some very unpleasant surprises.
Tell this hate-filled wretch that her reparations will consist of an all expense paid, one way trip to the African nation of her choosing, no questions asked.
This has been attempted before, ala: Liberia, and everyone has seen how that worked out.
Fifty years of playing the race card has worn thin. No black person alive today has ever had to endure indentured servitude, or has been legally kept as a slave, therefore they are not entitled to any sort of compensation whatsoever.
They can move back to Africa. Shoot, I will even do my “white” part and buy a 1 way, never to return, ticket for 1 “African” American.
Go dig up those dead white AND black slaveholders and make them pay.
I never had a black slave. My family never had black slaves. I have gone out of my way my whole life to be kind and gracious to Americans of African Descent.
Now, they want me to pay for what someone else 150 years ago did?

Wants reparations??? Go to North Africa and demand it there. It was the heart of the slave trade, had it not existed, she wouldn’t be here today. It wasn’t a case of starving victims of Auschwitz/Berkinau and the Gov’t using a final solution. If we go back 150 years, why not 2000, my ancestors were probably slaves of Rome. I believe that maybe she should use herself as an example of what can be be achieved by getting an education without reparations. Equal opportunity doesn’t mean you owe me something, it means you have the same opportunity as everyone else has to make your life better, but YOU are the one who is in charge of that. I believe its called responsibility.
My Great Grandfather settled in Minnesota just four years before the Civil War. His brother, my Great Uncle, has no descendants. He was drafted, then killed while still a teenager, fighting to free the slaves, before he even learned English.
How much more does my family owe?

I would guess that a very large majority of white, Hispanic, and Asian Americans trace their American roots to sometime AFTER the Civil War, and in millions of cases to after WWII.

Descendants of slaves would not even be alive today without slavery. There ancestors would not have met. Somewhere along the line the chain would have been broken. If being here is such hell, then the only solution is to send them back to the paradise that is Africa.
