Quick, sell Korea some carbon offsets.
That'll take care of everything.

You gotta wonder. Would a catastrophe that measurably cooled the earth for years give alarmists a reason to back off to save face? Nah.

Well, a volcano of this size blowing would get “anthropomorphic” climate change right off the hook.

Volcanic eruptions of stratovolcanos and supercalderas have been the most evident of the catastrophes that have affected human history, both by frequency and size. Add Tambora to the list that includes Krakatoa, Thera, Laki for work-wide influences. When the ejection plume punches through to the stratosphere, the influence goes world-wide.
FYI: Add a 3rd Indonesian Volcano, Toba, for pre-historical impact. A ~70,000 BC eruption arguably may have created a human population 'bottleneck' of a mere 4 digit survival. Many researchers attribute the homogenous genetic makeup of Homo Sapiens to this event. While the last Northern Hemisphere Ice Age was already in progress (~110k BC), its 'nuclear winter' effect may have had the most significant physical influence on modern humans of any event since.
