As company, they owe the public nothing except to the extent that they satisfy their investors. Government can suck it if they are following the law. Democrats can suck it. Unions can suck it. They don’t pay taxes, dividends or invest in actions that make the company strong and profitable.
They aren’t obligated to explain, but that explanation goes far to dispel myths. On the other hand, only disclosing the “required” information (in the light of the questions raised about what “doesn’t add up”) only serves to put truth further behind speculation.
