I recently purchased Farberware's Yosemite PERCOLATOR.

It's the very best coffee maker I've ever owned.

Ever.

I can never go back to foo foo coffee.

I’ve got a KitchenAid I’m happy with. You can pull out the tank to fill it, or pour from carafe into tank. What ever works for you. Came with one of the gold filters.

I have one of those. It’s my ‘travel’ coffee pot. Stainless steel so it gets packed right in my suitcase along with 2 travel cups, coffee, and creamer. It has been all across the U.S., all over Mexico and the Carribbean.
I want real coffee when I wake up in the morning. Not the pod crap, not instant, and I don’t want to have to leave my room to get it. Lol
It still works like a charm.

We have a Capresso. Does the same thing. Brother had a Cuisinart and hated it. It was a lot harder to clean than my Capresso so he got rid of the Cuisinart and got a Capresso.

That’s the new model. Ours is about 10 yrs old now and still works great.

Can you use paper filters in that, in addition to the basket?

One problem we had with our Farberware percolator was getting all the grounds out of the basket and into the trash can; inevitably some went down the drain when we rinsed the basket.

After a couple of years, one day our sink backed up, and a LOT of coffee grounds came floating up...

I’m sorry; I meant my post 124 to go to Mariner, re: the Yosemite.

Yes it uses paper filters. Is easy peasy and makes a great pot of coffee. The bean reservoirs on them are large too.

Oops though you were talking about the Capresso. Lol. He’s I use paper filters on the small percolator. Makes cleanup easier, especially in hotel rooms.

Thanks.

I did look up the Yosemite, and apparently it uses flat filters with the hole in the middle.

I really noticed the difference even with the electric percolater, as opposed to the ‘drip’ style - it just had more body. And it smells and sounds so nice, perking. I grew up with my Grandmother using a percolator every morning on the gas range.

I have a Mr. Coffee. Those DiMaggio ads really sold me. I also have a stainless steel percolator for the apocalypse.

That cinnamon tip sounds interesting. I’m not a cinnamon fan but last week made a Norwegian chicken recipe that used it and it was great! Recipe was from Perfect Day or New Scandinavian Cooking on the Create channel. Supposedly the recipe is 800 years old.

Mrs p6 said it is a keeper.

It added a great new dimension to the chicken, can see it in coffee.

Hamilton Beach 12 cup with, a single cup K-cup side, as well.

Like it so far, but would not have bought it ourselves. It was a gift.
