The Conservative Treehouse has done it again. We may even see exoneration and acquittal of any and all charges. Definitely NOT conviction for murder, no way.

Taser darts appear to be lodged in Slager's chest and leg, with wires everywhere being dragged away by Scott.

Be sure to also see the 2 enhanced videos in the comment thread. It appears Scott indeed may have turned Slager's own taser against him, and after you analyze what is in this post you may wind up arguing for exoneration and acquittal. Wow.

Oops, did not catch autocorrect typo, Officer Slayer should read Officer SLAGER.

Full of taser darts doesn’t really make a difference. The man was running away and not any longer dangerous to the officer or anyone else. Saying it was a good shoot is saying that revenge is an exonerating motive and many gang slayings would be justified.

We knew about the taser darts on day one. How is this in any way a “game changer?”

The why does the officer throw the taser behind him before shooting?

Why didn't Slager's police report say he had been shot with the Tazer? And if he had been shot with the Tazer then how was he able to calmly take aim and shoot a fleeing, unarmed man in the back?

Thanks for the information. I’m still content to see how much more comes out about this case.

After the last 3 trumped up events I no longer even believe I can take a position until we have a trial for the media first. Once we finally get the truth we can work on the actual case at hand.

goofy click bait. You don’t shoot people in the back, unless they are armed and threatening.

it also appears from a previous “excessive use of force charge” by a man who was tazed for opening his door (despite telling the cops he was not the occupant they were looking for), that Slager is a “taze first ask questions later” kind of sadist who got enraged when his control of the situation was challenged and his prey attempted to flee

Scott may have been doomed no matter what he did

Thank you very much for the post. I couldn’t get through on the link you posted but was able to go right to the site directly - http://theconservativetreehouse.com/

The videos and map are excellent and really clarify the confrontation. It definitely shows Scott fired the taser at the cop and then ran. It also shows Slager did not “plant evidence”. He retrieved the taser from the road, brought it to where he was staying with the Scott as helped started arriving, and then he picked it back up again when as things calmed down and put it in his belt.

Don’t expect Revrun Sharpton’s minions here to even watch the videos, though, they are anti-cop ideologues and won’t let truth deter them from smearing the police.

A bit difficult to follow the article I thought. In any case the court of public opinion was in within minutes of the video posting. More riots in the future if this articles analysis holds any legal weight.

Bull Butter.

There is no amount of retelling the tale that will overcome what is clearly obvious to us and the Slager in the video: Slager knew where the taser was because he and Scott were struggling for it. After Scott broke away to run, Slager’s hands were the last hands touching it. Scott was fleeing with empty hands and Slager shot him *deliberately* in the back. He even took a good second to get a clear sight picture before the first shot (ie, they weren’t particularly “rushed” shots). The cop proved he knew Scott did not have the taser and he proved he knew the shoot was bad when he suddenly got the idea to run back to his firing point to pick up the taser he (Slager) had dropped in order to draw his pistol and move it TEN YARDS closer to Scott. Stick a fork in that cop. He’s done.

Now opinions may vary and a high-dollar lawyer may get the jury to (one extent or another) ultimately buy this load of horse-hockey about the cop being “in fear”, but current and former cops know better. Everyone with two eyes to see and two brain cells to rub together knows the cop was wrong. Dead wrong. I hate to see it and I wish he hadn’t lost control of himself, but it’s done and it can’t be undone.

This explains the comical way the thug runs away. I never understood why he was running that way before. Now I now- he was tangled in the wire(s).

I’m pretty sure the cop, slager, tosses the taser behind him as he is reaching for his sidearm.

I like the conservative tree house, but I think they are wrong here, I think slager shot Scott, or tried to with the taser, maybe they wrestled for it, but it sure looks to me that slager threw the taser behind him as he he reached back and drew his sidearm. It also appears to me that a fired cartridge is trailing after Scott from the the probe wire that is looks to be in his leg. Maybe slager is tangled in a wire I don’t know that.

Also I highly, highly doubt he would have been fired and indicted this quickly, if Scott had actually taken the taser and fired in into slager, if at all.

Thanks for that link! It’s good to know that there are still questions and issues beyond the “open and shut” murder conviction by the media.

The issue now is whether a LEO is justified in shooting a fleeing felon who refuses to stop — assuming that assaulting a LEO is a felony in that state. If so, the officer will be exonerated of any wrongdoing.

I would comment negatively on the attitudes some folks display here, but that might be incorrectly conscrewed as ‘trolling’ rather than constructive criticism.

The lynch mob isn't going to like this.

And then there's this:

Graham holds that any determination of the “reasonableness” of a particular “seizure” under the Fourth Amendment’s prohibition of unreasonable searches and seizures “must be judged from the perspective of a reasonable officer at the scene, rather than with the vision of 20-20 hindsight” (of say, a non-police officer sitting on a jury). Graham also mandates that the “seizure” (of Scott), be judged from the perspective of a reasonable officer who might have been at the scene of the shooting, and not some otherwise reasonable person who does not share the law enforcement pedigree and worldview.
The way people feel when they have the benefit of hindsight sitting in their easy chair won't be the legal standard used at trial.

The Conservative Treehouse as always does superb analysis.
I still can not justify, to my satisfaction, the shooting of this fellow in the back.

We need to be a little careful with this “game changer” from The Conservative Treehouse. Any fact that could possibly exonerate or show mitigating circumstances in the case against Officer Michael Slager could interrupt the narrative of POlice killing innocent black men and possibly a perfectly good lynching.
