Lawmakers gasp when black Dem Rep accuses colleague’s 18-month-old of being racist

Proving that the race card has no bounds a Democrat Indiana lawmaker has accused an 18-month-old of being a racist. While debating the controversial “Religious Freedom Bill” recently signed into law by Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Rep. Vanessa Summers said the toddler, who is the son of her colleague Republican Judson McMillin was afraid of her because she’s black. “He looked at me like I was a monster and turned around and cried,” she said. “And I told him you need to introduce your child to some people that are dark-skinned so he will not be scared.” Now anyone who’s ever met a baby knows they sometimes cry when they meet strangers, or Santa Claus, or the Easter Bunny or because, you know, they’re babies and they just cry sometimes.

But not in the mind of Summers. In her mind this baby was a racist who could only have cried in response to her black skin. “I told Jud McMillin I love his son, but he’s scared of me because of my color. It’s hard,” she said to the sound of gasps from her colleagues who likely couldn’t fathom a dumber statement being made by an elected official. Her colleagues seemed to groan at the insanity of her claim, according to the Indianapolis Star. “It’s true,” Summers insisted. McMillin took the high road in response to the claims. “It’s just incredibly unfortunate. You’d like to think that we would have professional discussion on the House floor and certainly be able to avoid having 18-month-olds in the discussion,” McMillin told the Star. “I can tell you that if he reacted the same way he reacts with anybody brand new, he buries his head in his dad’s shoulder. Whoever it is, it’s what he does. He’s an 18-month-old kid; he’s in a new environment up here in the place like the Statehouse but doesn’t know anybody. I honestly don’t remember anything out of the ordinary.” The Twitterverse responded to the absurd statement accordingly.

I’ve been a mall Santa several times. Babies and toddlers (even older kids) cried when brought to my “throne” almost half the time.

Santa used to freak my kids out a little bit, but that 6 foot Easter Bunny sent them into full DefCon 5 mode.

Thinking logically however, a 6 foot rabbit would freak me out too.

Only Jimmy Stewart could handle that.

If you never saw Harvey, check it out. Great flick.

So, has racism become the new original sin, only when it comes to Whites?

That naive mindset is the reason Liberals have won the culture war over the past several decades, which has translated into election victories, and will continue to win.

"That doesn't make sense! Why do the Democrats keep doing these silly things?"

The Liberal movement knows EXACTLY what's it's doing. The Dem in this story knows exactly what she's doing. She's calling her opponent a racist, and her opponent now has the burden of explaining "No, I'm not a racist, let me explain why......"

The voters remember that candidate X was accused of racism. The Conservative movement needs to "grow a pair" and use the same tactics.

It’s only going to get worse. Such will be our culture and whites will pay dearly. We look on now, soon we will be put down.

A couple of years ago my 2 yr od daughter recoiled as this black man approached, and he noticed it and said “she doesn’t like me because I’m black” and I basically said “yeah.”

It’s fair to say this boy freaked out b/c she is black...doesn’t mean he’s racist, just means he’s not familiar with dark skinned folks.

I spent those early times in my life with Leafa the maid. I certainly was not afraid of color.

When you operate from the premise that all white people are racist from birth, by nature, this is the kind of "logic" you get.

My take is that the toddler instinctively recognized an evil, racist, socialist monster when it saw one.

An 18 month old is racist? I’ll ask my 18 month old nephew if he is racist. (Bet he would say ‘car race yes...’. He loves watching NASCAR)

I’m crying to having seen her picture...she looks like a cross between Michelle Obama, Helen Thomas and Bigfoot..(with Bigfoot supplying the beauty).

"There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery. Then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.... After all we have been through. Just to think we can't walk down our own streets, how humiliating."
Jesse Jackson, NOV 27 1993.

Afraid to see a black person... Hmm... Maybe Jesse needs to be introduced to more black people, too.
