WHAT IS OWED TO THE SERBS.

One of those moments you never forget: Before the dawn on March 25, 1999, I stepped outside the door to find The New York Times there on the ground with the headline announcing that NATO had begun its bombing campaign against the Serbs in the former Yugoslavia on March 24, 1999. I remember looking at that front page of the paper before picking it up and thinking - "They are really doing it. It's no longer a threat. It's real. It's real. What a mistake. What a mistake." Then I picked up the paper and went back inside. So began a 78 bombing campaign which included the time span over the Easter holiday and my family's Christian Patron Saint's Day - our Krsna Slava, St. Lazarus Saturday - which falls a week before Serbian Orthodox Easter.

I love America. Always have. Always will. But that bombing campaign in 1999, yet another horrific mistep in American foreign policy against the Christian Serbs that had spanned throughout the decade of the 1990s, beginning with the break-up of the former Yugoslavia, was a mistake of GIANT proportions. The Serbians had always been one of America's most steadfast and loyal Allies and certainly her best friend in the Balkans for sure. What hurts the most is that now so many Serbians no longer consider America a friend or an ally and have no wish to be either of those to America. That is the real tragedy. The WRONG people were targeted. The WRONG people were punished. The WRONG people in the Balkans were alienated.

The NATO bombing campaign of 1999 against the Serbs stands as one of the most unjust acts of aggression in the history of the world. I can only hope and pray that, at the very least, some day there will be a public act of contrition in the form of a public apology from America, regardless of whether there is one from her NATO allies or not, and that this apology will resound for all the world to hear.

AMERICA OWES SERBIA THAT ACT OF REPENTANCE, AND MUCH MORE.

Sincerely,

Aleksandra Rebic

OK Wayne, obviously in all of history’s unjust acts of aggression, you are right, it wouldn’t make the Top 10.

But lets look at it another way too. A Country so great as ours, probably the greatest Country do-date, bombed/slaughtered a nation due to politics and siding with evil.

ek, in your opinion, why were the globalists/NWOs so intent on bombing the Serbs?

I have my opinions which aren’t worth much, what is yours?

Thanks

A “liberated” Kosovo beholden would be (and is today) a permanent vassal state of the globalist elite. It’s no accident that George Soros was one of the leading backers of the campaign against Serbia.

interesting. Not sure how true, but knowing what we know about the Clintons, Obamas handlers, NWO/Globalists, etc I’d wouldn’t bet against what you wrote.

I remember when this was happening. As a solid conservative, I too naively ate up the lies that I read in the papers. “Hey, we have to stop genocide, right”.

But back then the internet wasn’t really in the swing and a man/woman had limited sources for truthful info.

I mean Randy Weaver was a white supremacist who was selling illegal arms in that “hot bed racist” area on N Idaho.

And the Davidians were sexually abusing kids.

And the Serbs were genocidal for no reason.
etc
etc

Later after doing some internet research on the Balkans years later, I realized the lies of our Govt. and how truly evil they are and have been.

Probably both. As far as strategic/economic importance, Kosovo sits on a lot of mineral wealth, that was part of Soros' interest in the region.

There was also an ideological side to it, the internationalists made an example of Serbia, basically saying "this is what happens to you when ethno-nationalists in Europe get too uppity and try to stand up to us" (they were willing to indulge Albanian ethno-nationalism to do so, since they perceived the Kosovars as significantly weaker and less of a threat - I wonder what they would have done if the Kosovars had the upper hand)?

It was also probably partly done as a gesture of goodwill to the Saudis, who were funding and arming the KLA at the time.

Sadly I remember the immense propaganda machine that was the American and Canadian news media. I remember the "authoritative" information about the "mass graves". The maximum bodies found, (I stand to be corrected) were a few hundred and spread apart.

Louise Arbour of Canada was described by two Canadian lawyers as the "unindicted war criminal". She was the UN human rights guru. Ammanpour was guilty as well. I understand Hilary Clinton had urged Bill Clinton to do what he did.

The shouts of "ethnic cleansing" to describe the actions of the Serbs were parroted incessantly. This by the North American media. Female anchors were using this phrase, often with a rasp in their voice. It was in fact a description of what has happened in Kosovo to the Serbs. The figures are available.

Read the articles by Paul Watson, Los Angeles Times. He was on the ground in Belgrade and could not figure out why we kept bombing CIVILIAN targets, which included bridges and schools. Clinton wanted to bring Serbia to its knees, and he did.

The only question I ask is WHY?

Who could forget General Wesley Clark trying to start WWIII by ordering people to fire on the Russians.

Not General Sir Michael Jackson...

He gained significant media attention in June 1999 after a confrontation with Clark in which he refused to block the runways of the Russian-occupied Pristina Airport and isolate the Russian troops there, thus preventing them from flying in reinforcements, after the order was queried by Captain James Blount. In one heated discussion with Clark, Jackson reputedly told him "I'm not going to start the Third World War for you". ["Confrontation over Pristina airport," BBC News, 09 March 2000]

YUp.
The one guy who stood there and told Clark to pound sand.
Clark was reportedly furious if memory serves.

Read the articles by Paul Watson, Los Angeles Times. He was on the ground in Belgrade and could not figure out why we kept bombing CIVILIAN targets, which included bridges and schools. Clinton wanted to bring Serbia to its knees, and he did.

NATO bombing of Serbia and Belgrade lasted from 24th of March until 10th of Jun 1999. Attacks lasted continually for 78 days and during that time infrastructure, industrial objects, schools, medical facilities, media houses, monuments of culture, churches and monasteries were heavily damaged. Although Belgrade didn't suffer as much as Novi Sad, which lost all its bridges or Niš and Aleksinac where cluster bombs were dropped on a market place and residential area, Belgrade still has the most striking ruins.

The best-known ruins are Building of Ministry of Internal Affairs and Yugoslav Ministry of Defence, both in Kneza Miloša Street, as well as Serbian National Television in Aberdareva Street. The other side of the story, one about ordinary people who spent three months in Belgrade basements shelters, remains unseen.

The only question I ask is WHY?

As usual with the Clintons, follow the money. And also take especial note of who the neighbors were in the vicinity where Vince Foster's body was dumped.

Too, recall that one of the early primary targets on the bombing was a museum....
