1) She took the DC bar exam and failed.
2) She married Bill Clinton.
3) She moved to Arkansas
4) She passed the Arkansas Bar
She would not return to Washington (to live) for 18 years. It has long been my contention that her disgraceful performance on the Watergate Committee led her to the conclusion that her future in DC was dim. Her best prospect was to latch onto the coat tails of Bill and to ride them to see where it would lead.
Obviously she made the right decision for her career.
Her best hope was always Bill. Hillary isn’t a fool, she could see that Bill was going places. He had all the makings of a rising star and Hillary had to know she didn’t have what it takes. At least not politically, she just isn’t gifted at the political game like Bill is.
