The school lunches that shame America: Photos reveal just how meager US students' meals are compared

Pictures have been released comparing what Michelle forces American schools to eat and what kids in other countries get to eat…

Since the program’s inception, Michelle Obama’s Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act has offended the sensibilities of the entire nation.

Conservatives found the program to be invasive, thrusting D.C.’s hand into local education matters. Educators found the program wasted enormous amounts of food and money. Parents found the lunches far too light to be considered “meals.”

And school children everywhere took to the Internet with pictures of the gruesome dishes the program sloshed onto their cafeteria trays every day.

Those pictures did massive amounts of damage to Michelle’s pet program, but now an even worse PR disaster rears its head. This week the U.K. Daily Mail ran pictures of what other countries feed their school children. The comparison is stark … and humiliating for the United States.

The “meal” above featuring an orange slice, a puddle of either apple sauce or a pulverized slice of peach or pear, and what looks like lumpy chipped beef without the toast is one of the dishes that complies with Michelle’s totalitarian program.

Compare this insult to parents, palettes and taxpayers alike with what other nations feed their school children. The contrast below is striking to say the least.

I too lived on PBJ for years.

Try bringing peanuts into a school today. You will be shot.

Might be a New England thing. Made by hostess. Kind of a square whoopsie pie: two pieces of chocolate cake with cream inside.

On my way home from my girlfriends house I would stop at the Johnny Appleseed and get a coke and a pack of Suzy Qs. High school was great.

That, and there is a sh*tload of food on those trays .... way too much for a single meal for a child. I agree ... this is bogus.

Of course, that doesn't detract one iota from the fact that Michelle's lunch dictates are craptacular.

Their heroism was why they were the Greatest Generation.

You’re right.

We couldn’t fight another war like that today. For many reasons.

Today we have troops fighting in Afghanistan. The rest of the country is at the Mall and watching TV.

Patriotism has to be taught. It is not always inborn.

I am the generation under the Great Generation, so it was taught. Our children’s generation and grands and great grands no little of Patriotism. To much of game playing and watching smut shows on the boob tube.

Today I’d not let my children watch Sesame Street, it teaches violence with out consequences and bad manners, throwing of hissy fits.

Not only is it in the schools, but hospitals and nursing homes. When I go to the hospital, which is to often for my liking, I get placed on a liquid diet for 3 days. I starve. I can’t eat the over salted broth or the YUCKY to sweet, to high calorie, cholesterol, and sodium Ensure Clear. I drink grape juice, ice tea, and coffee when I can sneak it from the nurses station.

I don’t need a Meneire’s attack on top of the Gastroparesis attack that sent me to the hospital in the first place. Then when I get solid food it is mushy and cold and unseasoned. Go figure that out. I’m screaming about the high sodium in the liquid diet, and the solid comes in not seasoned and cold. I’ve cooked for the Meniere’s for 5 yrs now I know how much salt to use. Put it on the side.

Gasp!! They’re letting children handle metal forks? Don’t they realize forks can be used as weapons?
