I don't go to the movies and I cannot remember the last time if ever that I watched the Oscars show. I tuned in last night, partly because Mrs. 40 wanted to see it and partly because she and I saw American Sniper and were curious how the movie would do.

We were both appalled at the political comments, comments based on MSNBC/CNN horse squeeze that have no basis in truth. John Legend is clueless, as are all who applauded his racist rant.

I know now why I have never watched and I also know that I never will again.

From what I have read this show was the worst ratings in 9 years and the lowest viewership in 5. After what I saw last night, I would expect next year's numbers to be worse...far worse.

Blacks, along with everybody else of any color in this country, submit to showing an ID for EVERYTHING ... renting an apartment, buying a house, getting a library card, cashing a check, renting a video, buying a bus or plane ticket, buying cigarettes or alcohol, renting or buying a car, enrolling your kids in school .... EVERYTHING.

But somehow when ID is required to vote THEIR RIGHTS ARE BEING INFRINGED UPON.
