I've heard enough horror stories from owner-operators to be wary, but on more than a few stressed-out days due to my office job I've thought it wouldn't be that bad of a life, especially for a husband-wife team. Just hit the road.
Are you kidding??? The kid wearing the clip on tie is TRYING to conform to the traditionally accepted dress code for getting a job. He's got enough sense to know that it's not about "him" and what he likes to wear but about what is least offensive to and more acceptable to his employer and other people. The fact that it's a clip on only shows that he's young and didn't know how to tie a tie. This kid gets it. The moron who shows up in jester suit and demands that you take him as he is will end up having problems his entire life with employment and customer service and will invariably end up blaming others.
I was thinking the same thing a while ago. A good job for a young couple -- they get to be together, and break requirements mean that they have time to be together in the sleeper compartment.
Me too, and the first words out of their mouths are not what they can do for me, but how much am I going to pay them.
Here are two threads about him getting the tie and Target
employees helping him.

He's probably got a Czar position in the current administration.
I wore a clip on for a couple of my jobs.
Back in 1967 I quit the Linotype trade and became a programmer. My printer wage was $4.50 and hour and the civilian programmers job at Camp Pendleton paid the same as their clerks - $2.35.
The DP manager said they couldn't match the printer pay and I told him that I expected to start at the bottom rung of a new career, as long as I could see rungs above.
I got the job and had interesting and well-paid jobs for the next 33 years.
Told my kids to use the same analogy and the few times they did, it worked out fine.
Hes hired! Raleigh teen in viral Target photo lands job
No I wasn’t kidding. I would feel that the kid in the jester hat and roller blades was a creative original thinker. That’s just me. I have always been prejudiced in favor of people who look or dress differently. I just automatically like them better initially. Besides, only a hick wears a clip on tie. They go well with short sleeve dress shirts. LOL! Now if he were wearing the clip on tie ironically, well then, he might be on to something.
Outstanding.
Good news for a change.
Especially if your black.. I’m not saying it’s right but seeing a well dressed well spoken young black man is reassuring. It sends the signal that he is willing to conform to standard business behavior. It also lets you know that he is not willing to conform to the standard “don’t act white” attitude of black racists which is a courageous act in some communities. I would hire that kid on the spot.
Alrighty, then...
Maybe he doesn't have a father to show how to tie a regular tie. That he cared about his appearance is more effort than what many interviewees put forth these days.
.A clip on tie is a dead giveaway that you are a complete roob.
Look it up. Rube/Roob are interchangeable.
For example, see "The Great Roob Revolution" by Roger Price.
Good for him!
I don’t know that ANY kid EVER going for a job interview has had so many people rooting for him. LOL
His name is Yasir. I’m sure he’s an immigrant.
