Tiffany’s screed reminds me of something uttered by a Texas governor, Miriam A. (’Ma’) Ferguson, 1925-1935.
In the debate on whether books—particularly Bibles—should be printed in Spanish as well as English, Ma lectured in similar fashion:
“If English was good enough for Jesus Christ, it’s good enough for me.”
RIP Ma Ferguson, Democrat.
