NO-KNOCK POLICE RAID ENDS IN BLAZING TRAGEDY
WND.com ^ | February 11, 2015 | Leo Hohman

Posted on 02/11/2015 10:14:11 AM PST by Reverend Saltine

Gun owners and self-defense advocates are lauding a rare victory in which a Texas grand jury has refused to indict a homeowner for shooting and killing a police officer who entered his home unannounced in the middle of the night.

The homeowner, Henry Magee, 28, said he thought the officers who broke through his door were robbers and he acted in self-defense to protect his pregnant girlfriend and two children.

Police were acting on a tip from a criminal informant that led them to believe Magee had more than a dozen marijuana plants, all at least six feet tall, in his rural home in Burleson County. Officers included a line on the warrant that Magee also had “possible illegal guns” stolen from the local sheriff’s office. The local magistrate signed off on the warrant, with deadly consequences.

Before the sun came up on Dec. 19, nine deputies broke down the door to Magee’s mobile home and set off a flash-bang grenade. Magee confronted them, firing away as they barged through the door. One of the deputies, Adam Sowders, fell dead.

When the dust settled, they found two small marijuana plants less than six inches tall and four guns, all legally owned by Magee, three of which were locked in a safe.

Bleach is good for running off scorpions.
You can get it by the gallon at some dollar stores.

Spray it around windows and vents and doors and even holes in screens.

I find it best to use one or two words from the title and do a title search.

Example: No-knock will give the following:

oh come on ya can't get all Ramboed-up and NOT kick in a door and start hurling flash-bangs. How are the Rambo-wannabes gonna have any fun if they don't do that then?

This story is over a year old.

A good story, but a bit dated.

Not exactly. It was just published today on WND and it’s about the current, newly handed down court decision.

I see the WND story is new, but I do not see a new court decision, just the Grand Jury decision.

It still makes a decent story, but the Grand Jury decision was reported on a year ago.

There are situations that justify a no-knock raid, but they are exceptionally rare. Growing pot does not qualify. Non-violent possession of weapons does not count. Certainly an arrest warrant for shooting a cop counts, as does the potential to destroy evidence within a few seconds (6’ tall plants and firearms would not be destroyed in the time it takes to knock and enter legally).

It should take exceptional justification to conduct these raids, and that is not happening. Sadly, the price is paid by homeowners like the resident of this home and by cops like the one who was killed in this unconstitutional search of a private home.

Cop lost his life over a couple of six inch pot plants. What a waste.
