In memory of my late uncle, John Marmo, and Fiona, an inimitable FReeper and charter member of the UT.

I’m very sorry about your uncle, G. Thank you for reminding us about Fiona. Too many of our old UT FRiends are gone.

"Im very sorry about your uncle, G. Thank you for reminding us about Fiona. Too many of our old UT FRiends are gone." "Walk out of the darkness"; yes, that has a familiar sound.
Why Have I Been Weeping?
...
...
...
...
I only know the answer to a question still unasked,
For it is the answer always for the way we have been tasked.
The answer is to love someone, though someone brought you pain,
Even though youre hurting now, you still must love again.
For love is still the answer to the way to get through life,
And it doesnt matter if you fail, or if you live in strife.
You must share your pain and loneliness, and laugh it all away,
And youll find that pain is ebbing as loves tide flows in today.
Step out of the shadow of the pain that brought you grief,
And hold a child, and see her smile, and you will feel relief.
No matter how youre hurting, and no matter what youve lost,
Theres even more to be received, with negligible cost.
Your life has many turnings, at the end you may look back,
And though you know you lost something, theres nothing that you lack.
The life that seemed so shattered has been made into a whole,
And your audience applauds you for your stunning, starring role.

I tried to be supportive. I think it helped, a little. One thing I know for sure; Cheerfulness is Kryptonite for depression.
It may feel artificial to you if it doesn't come naturally, but if you can fake it for long enough, it becomes real.
Once optimism becomes what you do, it becomes what you are.

In memory of my late uncle......and my uncle Don H., my uncle Boyd H., my good friends Danny S. and Greg H., and an employee at my plant Andy C.......
Suicide touches everyone and I can't imagine going thru the depression thinking you are all alone with no hope or bipolarism that is too often the cause.

Too many of our old UT FRiends are gone.
The one most memorable to me and one I continue to shed tears for whenever I think of him is "TrappedInLiberalHell"......Just a young kid who had a website on gardening when he left us....

I miss nina0113. She got sick with something and died before they diagnosed it. We liked the same books and both had a crush on Lord Monckton, the anti-global-warming speaker.

“Briefly,” OddLane says.
It was a long time ago. Many people have changed their names since then.

This seems like something from another world. So long ago ...
But I think they wanted to leave a record ... footprints, you might say.
And ... they were happy, for a time.
Depression may be catching. I hope it isn't contagious. Read at your peril.
