Actually no. In the 14th century “gender” started being applied to grammar (masculine/feminine/neuter), in the 15th folks started getting sloppy and confounding masculine with male and feminine with female. The word has since been completely corrupted by people who want to pretend that maleness and femaleness are as arbitrary and malleable as grammatical categories, and should be avoided when what is meant is sex.

The ridiculous term “transgender” is of recent vintage, another way the left has twisted the languare. The correct term is “transvestite”.

I know it's off topic, but his is why Valerie Jarret's idea of granting public employees paid leave is so ominous. Ultimately they will impose it on private business as well ... and the oligarchs that run the large corporations will be fine with that ... because it will slow down their future competitors more than them.

All this really means is that every restaurant that wants to keep their normal clientele will have to replace two single-sex bathrooms with multiple one-holer unisex bathrooms.

This will be another hidden tax imposed on small business.
