Marriage should be a state issue. As with concealed carry, marriage license reciprocity should be worked out between the states themselves. Imagine the hoopla if the USSC decided (one way or the other) on nationwide concealed carry.

Abortion should have been a state issue. Given the controversy that still surrounds abortion, let's hope the USSC gets this one right.

Obviously the Constitution’s declaration that “we the people” form the government (rather than God, which had always been the case previously) is an example of the people leaving God. The Constitution itself is only a written document that reflects the beliefs of the people who voted for it. As a founding document though, it’s what people today look back at not the people behind it.

If the government funds education vouchers then the government can dictate what sort of education may be received with their money. I would rather the state have no say in education whatsoever.

I understand the sentiment, but politically it isn't on the menu.

“It is the state telling you that 2+2=5”

I think you nailed it vv. truth. The real problem then is corruption.
There will always be, in any state, those who adamantly believe that 2+2=5, and there is very little to be done to dissuade them of it. The real problem are those who know that 2+2 does not equal 5, but see personal political or financial advantage to agreeing that it does.

Many Kings, some of whom were the most abhorrent people to grace the face of the earth, were given great coronations in the name of God! Did that make their Kingdom’s Godly?

The Bible is just a book, until we the people put the Word, within, into action. I look at the U. S. Constitution in the exact same manner.

Putting the word “God” on, or in, something doesn’t make it Godly. You obviously think differently.

I’m 99% certain they will. They will look for any excuse to do this. It would take phenomenal courage, which clearly most on this court don’t have, to not allow it.

In any problem you must start at the beginning.. you must set your foundational premise.. a point of reference...your must seek a fundamental universal truth to start from

But you first must acknowledge there is such a thing as the truth and discoverable......

As in “we hold these truths to be self-evident”..originally it was written as “we hold these truths as sacred”... religion or reason ... truth is God..or God is truth.. I believe they must be the same...

my argument for atheist that contend they are rational ....then they must have truth and from it reason as their God

I agree that simply slapping God onto the Constitution does not make this a Godly nation. Britain still recognizes God, Scotland still claims to adhere to the Westminster Confession but obviously this alone doesn’t make them Godly nations. In fact their actions suggest otherwise.

However what the Constitution does is explicitly say this is not a Godly country. The very first line makes that plain when the founders decided that government was ordained by “we the people” rather than God.

To me this is a classic states rights issue. We don’t want it in GA we don’t care what NY does. But the SCOTUS has become as corrupt and the rest of the US govt so count on them to force this on all 57 states.

If the SCOTUS decides that gay marriage is a Constitutional right, polygamy will soon be legalized and laws against incest will also be struck down.

However what the Constitution does is explicitly say this is not a Godly country.

Please show me where the Constitution "explicitly" says we are not a Godly country? Because the line you referenced doesn't even mention God, explicitly or other. In case you didn't know it, explicit means, "leaving no question as to meaning or intent." They did not exclude God, because "We The People" are the actions of God; most of these men were Godly men, acting on His guidance and Word. They prayed before every session.

The only thing you have stated is YOUR interpretation and opinion of the first line. That doesn't make it correct. If I say, "I wish you good health." Since I didn't say "God and I wish you good health," does that mean I hope you have Godless health? That is your premise, in this article. Because they didn't specifically mention God, then they were creating a Godless country - that is simply, your opinion, and definitely does not EXPLICITLY remove God from the country or it's founding.

I will state again, nicely written article, but your premise is simply wrong and without merit. Thanks, I have enjoyed our conversation.

The SCOTUS will impose it on all the states.

Which it has no constitutional power to do. Not that it has stopped this federal government before.

The government just needs fire-’power’ to do it and they got plenty of that.

Let's see if even one state defies the order.

“We the people” by its very nature excludes God from government. After all, by saying “we the people” the Constitution tells everyone that governments and power do not come from God but from the people. That ought to be news to Christians, it certainly was in the 18th century.

probably not.

Has any state defied a federal court over this yet?

If sodomy isn’t illegal and if sodomites can marry, there’s no logical reason to prohibit polygamy, bestiality, incestuous relationships and marriages and so on. Make no mistake, the left is already on a crusade to lower the age of consent. The rest of this is on their radar as well.

the vast majority of states have had votes on the subject and homo marriage was rejected overwhelmingly.

in florida, we passed a state constitutionally against it... and a single federal judge is trying to over thrown and ignore the will of people
