Appearing on the View yesterday, Glee star Naya Rivera raised eyebrows by saying that showering once a day is such a white people thing.
The comment came after co-host Nicolle Wallace said that, as the owner of dogs and the mother of a baby, she finds herself showering more and more. Sometimes, Wallace said, there would be mud or pee in her hair, so she showers, even as many as three times a day.
You know, I have to say, I have a theory about showering, which is that white people shower a lot more than ethnics, Rivera responded. She continued, I feel like showering once a day, or everyday, is such a white people thing.
Today, Rivera apologized for her comments.
Rivera plays Santana Lopez on the television show Glee.
Either that or noticing that another smells bad is racist - can't figure out what the real message is...
Acting white.
Acting white.
______________
And one wouldn’t want to be seen as “Acting white” for that would be a bad thing. It is racism.
Love it!
Do you means dreads or extensions?
Extensions are little tiny braids sewn into existing hair. It takes a long time and a lot of work for the beautician but the results are very pretty IMHO.
Quite often the pre-made braids are human hair. Someone in Asia or someplace sold their hair for this.
Dreadlocks are where the person rolls the hair with something (sometimes mud or honey)into long locks. I think they can’t be washed out. Dreads ruin the hair if I understand correctly.
Oh! Thanks for the information. Being an ‘old white’ gal, I was not aware of exactly how this type of hair style is created. I am speaking of the extensions - the tiny braids often with colorful beads.
