Storm Shows Americans Are Totally Unprepared:
SHTF Plan ^ | 12/12/14 | Mac Slavo

Georgia Virgili was one of the hundreds of thousands in the Bay Area who lost most of the conveniences of modern life.

“I didn’t have power,” Virgili said. “I couldn’t get my car out of the garage, I have no food, I have no cash, so I’m trying to forage for something.” (CBS)

Back in 2006 we had a big storm knock out the electricity (8 days). I had battery invertors off the car to run my laptop, and a kersene lamp. (It was a neat image - pc by the lamp!) Even had dial-up modem back then to get a report out!

“I couldn’t get my car out of the garage,”

I guess he doesn’t know why his garage door opener came with a red handle at the end of a rope.

My thought has always been the average rounds carried by a soldier on patrol is 210 rounds I have a minumum of 10 times that (seperate from range ammo)I keep at all times for my battle rifle. Ten firefights you have either captured addition ammo or you are dead, Face it in SHTF if you got yourself in ten firefights you are either stupid or have a death wish or both.

I have relatives in norCal

NorCal is mostly OK, lots of water and snow, but of course most of us were prepared. The worst damage and flooding was in the Bay Area, as noted in the story, they weren't prepared.

Can’t get her car out of the garage?

Good grief lady, just fire it up and ram the damn door until its ripped from the rails.

You’ll be free before you know it.

my lil town..here in Marin County was litteredl.....with business with sandbags at every doorway ....

the two local creeks came no where near coming over their banks.

the local NBC affiliate form S.F....had a ViDEO VAN...with sattelite uplink here 24 hours before the storm was supposed to hit

Somebody at channel 4....remembered the flood here in 1982.....and was HOPING to get some BIG COVERAGE of a disaster.

Finally! 0bama’s ‘Katrina!’

Oh, wait. He didn’t get blamed for the ‘Snowpocolypse’ in Buffalo. He’ll skate on this one, too!

Besides, no black folks were harmed; and who cares about Whitey and their troubles these days?

That’s so Old School. *SMIRK*

Aim small, miss small! :)

Is it a Bad Thing that I’m ready to snipe Zombies from my third floor sniper nest? Think those California Zombies will make it all the way up here to Wisconsin, looking for food, water and shelter? I need some live target practice. ;)

JUST KIDDING. Sort of. Maybe.

Yea.

And moaning about global warming, the drought (we’re all gonna die!), on and on.

Then it rains and the shrieking goes off on a different tack....

It’s ridiculous.

OK I’m glad all y’all are OK.

A lot of the trouble is hype sensationalist newscasters that in previous times have overblown things....
so that when a real hellacious storm comes barreling toward soCal, people don’t believe it.

I nearly got caught in a nor’easter in NYC because somebody didn’t believe the weather guys...

Maybe he could send buses from New Orleans to go save them.

Maybe Amtrak could set up free rides to Arizona.

Maybe he could go open that stupid woman’s garage door.

So many options, so little time.

What I mentioned in #55, the media sensationalist hype designed to

(oh, I don’t know what, Maybe a popularity contest?)

rile people up?

Get better ratings than the other channels?

“Guess nobody told him he could pull the cord and put his garage door up manually.”

Georgia Virgili: “You can do that”?
