THE MOST “GUILTY” COP EVER TO WALK AWAY FREE

In the early 1980s the New York City Police Department received a number of civilian complaints about the conduct of its officers. Among those complaints was one that had to be the most infuriating, embarrassing and heartbreaking even the toughest street cops had ever heard.

The complaint came from a woman who said that while she was pregnant she felt faint and collapsed to the sidewalk in the streets of New York’s Greenwich Village, then subsequently became unconscious. This brought attention from a police officer who was on foot patrol nearby. From there the story was picked up by a witness.

The witness told investigators that he had personally observed the police officer kneel down next to the woman and a after a few seconds drive his nightstick into her stomach. He said he saw an ambulance crew take the woman to a nearby hospital and he followed them right to the emergency room.

Thereafter the worst part of the incident happened according to the male witness. He said the woman then lost her baby!

In short, he had witnessed a cop violently thrust his nightstick into the woman’s stomach for no reason and this caused her to lose her baby. To recap: the complaint said a witness had testified that he saw the police officer slam his nightstick into a pregnant woman’s stomach causing her to lose her baby.

Reading the first several paragraphs of the report on the complaint made me want to crawl under a table in embarrassment. Nevertheless, as I continued reading I realized the story was changing.

What the Civilian Complaint Review Board’s (CCRB) investigator’s report revealed was that things were far different than what a quick initial reading indicated.

The CCRB found that the “witness” had not seen anything...

That’s true, and we should always consider that witnesses are known for being unreliable.

I once had my car stolen from in front of my house.

The car was eventually recovered.

Under the front seat, I found the full WALLET of the guy who stole the car.

I turned in the wallet to the police.

They did nothing.

When the panhandler Cesar Beltran was shot by Tacoma Police Officer Michel Volk, eyewitnesses said:

“Then all of a sudden, (the officer) yelled something and she tried Tasing him, but missed. When the guy started to run away, (the officer) immediately threw the Taser down, pulled her gun out and shot.” The man seemed to be running in slow motion — possibly drunkenly — as he attempted to flee, Graham said. That’s when the officer fired four shots, several of which appeared to hit the man, she added, “I didn’t see anything in his hands,” Graham added. “I didn’t see him do anything physical or threatening. I’ve just never seen anything like that before in my life — a person just getting shot like that. It was just heartbreaking.” (1)

“Folks we watched this while waiting in the turn lane. From what I viewed the slow moving but irritated homeless man was absolutely murdered. I could have restrained him with one arm. To be watching something that seemed sorta funny be turned into a shooting......I am not comfortable as a tax paying and law abiding citizen in Tacoma anymore. Maybe time to relocate our business as this type of event is now all too common in Tacoma.” (2)

Have these eyewitness accounts been investigated and verified or debunked? Has officer Volk been exonerated or fired? Was Beltran shot in his front or his back? The Tacoma News Tribune has not reported the results of any internal investigation. In light of police shooting issues in the TNT and around the country, I look forward a full public disclosure of the results of this case.

Yup. Look for the common denominator and more often than not you’ll have found the problem.

I’ve had a Star of David graffiti sprayed on my walkway.

As a Jew, that’s a bit spooky.

Cops response? Nothing.

I had nails pounded into my tires four days in a row while parked in a secure garage (at a very liberal establishment) because (I strongly suspect) of the Bush sticker in my car window. Having changed cars and moved the sticker to the new car, nails were pounded in that car tire.

Cops response? Nothing.

First off you don’t know that they did nothing...secondly.....your car was stolen and the police recovered it and in your mind they failed.

I’ve had exactly one vehicle heavily ‘keyed’ in my 69 years of life, the vehicle with the baby seal and save the baby humans message, stop abortion. The left is deranged, full of hate, and lost to satanic control.

I’ve been driving down the right hand lane of the freeway in heavy traffic, and a cop was off on the right with his lights flashing.

I attempted to move left, but an 18 wheeler was in my way so that I couldn’t move out of the way.

The cop gave me a ticket because there is a new law (that nobody I talked to had ever heard of) that says you must get out of the right lane when a cops lights are flashing.

Even though I didn’t know the law, I TRIED to get out of the way, but was unable to due to the 18 wheeler.

The cop gave me a ticket and said he was doing nothing else all day except write that same ticket. Apparently without regard to whether it was even possible to obey the law.

The cops in Medford, Oregon never make it down one whole city block without violating the driving laws at least once. I’ve never seen it. They squeal their tires, and race around like 18 year olds on beer.

The cops in Seattle, WA had the instigators of the WTO riots (which occurred right below my office) squatting in an abandoned building right next door to the main HQ of the cops.

Everyone knew who the rioters were. There was TV tape of them. Reporters interviewed them.

Not one arrest.

And the list goes on.

I’m 53. I’m waiting for my very first positive interaction with the cops.

There is a city policeman who lives a few doors down from my house, but he is working so much he is seldom home. He does park the cruiser across the street from his house though. That slows traffic a bit.
