I saw a documentary or video once where they went to some obscure village in Pakistan. They showed store fronts with almost every weapon imaginable and little kids making ammunition...............It was something you would expect to see in one of Mel Gibson’s post apocalyptic movies.......

I think I saw something like that, too.

It reminds me of the movie, ‘King of the Khyber Rifles’ I watched, years ago. It was sort of like that.

Growing poppies and making/repairing hand guns is just about all they do there.

Oh... and slap their wives around

I don’t know if this was the same documentary, but Michael Palin (Monty Python) did one of his travel documentaries, called Himalaya. The whole production was excellent, but his crew did pass through some small Pakistani village with a thriving hand-made gun industry.

Palin made the very clear point that these guns were pretty much exact functional replicas of nearly any gun otherwise available, all for a fraction of the cost. I remember him being quite startled by live-fire testing in a narrow alley.

Great show! Made we want to visit. Sort of.
