Looking for movie suggestions

Posted on 12/07/2014 7:19:17 PM PST by BJ1

I would like a list of movies with a princess theme, but not children oriented. I can think of two older movies: Sabrina and Roman Holiday that I would categorize like that. Moving forward a movie like Pretty Woman would fit that too.

Can I get some suggestions for movies like that that are worth the time to rent?

Not exactly “princess,” but you may enjoy Mrs. Petigrew Lives For A Day.

It is a kind of Cinderella story. You will not be disappointed.

I loved Belle — true story with fairytale-like qualities. It’s Downtown Abby-esqe.

ENCHANTED is quite good.

About a girl (played by the lovely Amy Adams) transported from the animated Disney-esque world into ours. Great movie.

Anne Hathaway in PRINCESS DIARIES. Cute movie. She was in a sequel to that and in ENCHANTED.

There was one with Drew Barrymore that was good (kind of a take off on Cinderella).

Also there was one with Claire Danes.

Ivanhoe is an old one.

Sorry, you’ll have to look them up - I’m terrible with remembering titles.

The "King and I" with Jodie Foster and Yun-Fat Chow was breathtaking.

Is that the one you refer to?

Another “Cinderella” movie is “Bachelor Mother” (1939) with Ginger Rogers and David Niven. The scene in Times Square on New Year’s Eve is the most romantic thirty seconds ever filmed.
