Black-owned Ferguson store destroyed by mob of Michael Brownshirts

" 'They knew it [referring to the fact that she is black] ... Jealous anger she wasn't a welfare queen like the rest of the hood.' "

" 'I feel bad for this poor woman. She put her heart and soul into a business to make a good living for herself and to provide a service for the community. This is how they repaid her. To those who pass off the violence by saying that it was just the destruction of property, I point to the fact that Juanita's life has been irrevocably altered for the worse.' "

I’d be willing to donate what I could to help this woman rebuild her store. Do you think Jim would allow FR do do something along those lines? Just a thought.

I guess that’s always an option. I guess I was just thinking of a normal progression of events, lol.

...”just proves that blacks have NO problem killing their own(As they do in Chicago every single day) and destroying their own community businesses.”
____________________________________________

Some random thoughts:

There are individuals of every “race” who have ‘no problem killing their own’. Black people killing their own is a class and sociological issue, not a ‘race’ issue.

I am a Caucasian, in a largely Black workplace; and I discussed this today with one of my Black male co-workers. He couldn’t believe the insanity of what the rioters were doing, and I’m confident that none of the other AA people that I know and work with every day would ever engage in this kind of activity.

According to Wiki, the 2010 census indicated that Ferguson’s population was over 21,000 people, and 67% were black. The people rioting were a very small percentage of that number.

Ill-raised, ignorant, and alienated people exist in every race and culture - and there are always power-greedy people willing to take advantage of them and stoke their grievances.

The problem is that academics, government and activists - even when they are sincere, and don’t have some political axe to grind - keep thinking that “programs” can somehow solve this; and too many of the people have been taught to think that handouts and special treatment can somehow repair things, and set them “free”.

But what Black Americans need most now, is something that the rest of us can’t give them. On their own, they have to shore-up their families; start getting and staying married; aspire to education and independence. That isn’t something that can be ‘given’ to anyone; it has to come from personal awakening and volition.

That ‘awakening’ has come to many of my acquaintance, who grew up in circumstances far less than ideal. It may sometimes seem like a very slow process; but I believe the ‘awakening’ process is accelerating.

(And who, after all, is responsible for a lot of this? In the 1950s, the black married folks had a lower divorce rate than white people did; their lives were largely family- and church-oriented. It was rich, elite WHITE people, who created the ‘sexual revolution’, a popular culture that celebrated licentiousness, and the welfare state; and they did it all for one kind of greed or another: money, or political power.)

One of Abraham Lincoln’s priorities after the Civil War, was education for the emancipated slaves; and education leads to opportunity.

He was killed; and it was a long time before we were really interested in that priority again.

(On another thread, I mentioned a few old-school liberals whom I respect; another is Daniel Patrick Moynihan, who saw what was happening and would continue to happen.)

I really am not in a position to say. But I’ve messaged him here.

The reality is that she’s received other media attention today (just of course not as well put-together as my piece on it). She may well have been insured. And of course money can’t likely heal the emotional scars of the destruction of her business by those who were probably mostly members of her community, the out-of-state soros?-funded trotskyites notwithstanding.

Who knows? Not I.

Educated blacks would NEVER riot..its the ones who most likely have a 5th grade education, ditched school, and have zero class..there are two kinds of blacks, classy blacks and the garbage you saw last night..the ones who have no problem destroying their own community if it means getting “Free goodies” I saw people looting an auto zone and stealing tires..for what car? I bet they don’t even have one yet here they are, rolling off with new tires

Hi; and thanks for your response.

Yes, education is important. But how to get education to them, unless there is a solid family encouraging it? and unless we cease with all the incentives to NOT create solid families? Government can’t raise a child!

(Actually, my black co-worker, who found all of this rioting unbelievable, has very little education; he is basically a manual laborer. But he comes from a solid, loving family, and was raised with good values; and for all his lack of formal education, he is a wise man.)

We can offer all the opportunities we like, through government, charity, etc.; but there has to be a solid family, with aspirations, to bring the kids up into opportunity. The “village” can’t do that; only dedicated and devoted personal love can do that - and that’s “family”.

(Even if it’s only a single mother: see the story of Ben Carson :-)

Michael Brown had a father, thing is, just look at his Dad, doesn’t even care that his son robbed a liquor store..and look at the step-father, asking everyone to “Burn this b*tch to the ground” no wonder Michael Brown felt it was OK to behave like a thug, look what he was surrounded with, so I understand and your right..its also about environment, what your raised around..if you come from good values, a good family who supports their child getting a good education, a good paying job will follow..but if you teach your kid that the best way to succeed is to steal and harm people they won’t last long..like the saying goes, live like a thug and die like one

I’m not sure it ever was going to reach the Florida or Arizona level, but, realistically, most of the nonsense is in a few of the usual-suspects parts of metropolitan areas. Same deal as in quite a few states (maybe not Vermont or South Dakota). Missouri is just the Raaaaaaaacism Industry’s flavor of the month.

Racism, class, money, status, family, education, schools attended, fancy-schmancy cars...it's all good for these very, very few short decades of life we are given on God's good earth.

We are here to emulate Christ and bring His Word to the world, MOSTLY through our own example of Christian living and behavior--thought, word and deed. The human soul had no color, does it? Aren't we all made into the image and likeness of God? SOMETIMES it's not so easy for me to SEE that image/likeness of God in SOME people but I know it's there.

Oh well. I'm glad I'm not in Misourri right now. If I were young and single there I MIGHT think of leaving and moving to "greener pastures."

hope none of them rebuild, let the place become a ghost town

That is an excellent idea. Let the state government deal with a ghost town. In NO time it wiould fill with homeless, druggies, pimps, pushers, prostitutes and other down and out souls. THEN what?

The state of Missouri would then have to step in and DO something: evict every living soul and LEVEL the ENTIRE town and return it to the prairie dogs.

I'd like to see that!

Not to beat a dead horse, but there is a lot to Missouri beyond the decayed, Section 8-ed parts of metropolitan St. Louis.

Exactly. But a true, dedicated father and family, would not teach a child to steal and harm.

I’m not sure that the young man’s father or step-father were even around much. I think the problem with a lot of these young ‘thugs’ is that they aren’t taught much of anything, in the home. And if the home isn’t teaching them anything, the opportunities that government tries to offer are useless.

You are little over the top with your criticism in this instance. Some “bloggers” do have something to add and with increasing restrictions for posting from various media sites ocurring, some bloggers may become sources for original information or at least offer interesting perspectives for discussion. If such a person is offensive, they can always be “zotted”!
