Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh on Wednesday said the skunking of Democrats in the midterm elections has given Republicans an incredible mandate to oppose President Obama.
"The Republican Party now has one of the most important and unquestionable mandates a political party has ever had," Limbaugh said on his radio show.
"The national Republican brand or image didn't say a word which makes the mandate that they have all the more incredible, he added.
The popular conservative radio host slammed Republicans who say voters want them to govern and look for compromises with Democrats.
"This election was about stopping the losers in this case, the Democrats," Limbaugh said. He warned that if Republicans do not "admit why they were elected ... this is all going to be for naught."
Republicans easily captured the Senate on Tuesday and delivered major blows to Democrats in House and gubernatorial races across the country, exceeding most expectations on both sides.
Limbaugh said the message from voters was clear.
"Yesterday's results cannot in any way mean that voters want Republicans to work with Democrats," Limbaugh said. "The Republican party is 'the other guys.
Pubbies should tell the Marxists,”We won, live with it!”
While I’m a Cruz fan, I now feel Walker is our best bet for 2016.
The stoopid party will do nothing. They can’t help themselves.
If not a mandate, “strong permission”.
Incredible. As in “they have no credibility whatsoever to carry it out”.
Walker 2016. He fights, he governs, he wins. No republican has a better resume.
I can go w/that :)
But how do you get anything done with Obama still able to wield a veto pen? You can pass bill after bill that he’ll veto. What does he care? He’s pretty much done, and too arrogant to agree to anything he doesn’t like.
So is the answer “Pass tons of bills that Obama will veto, with no progress on any major issues for the next 2 years while Obama issues executive order after executive order”?
McConnell is already talking about his duty to work with democrats. Ya right, like Harry Ried? < p> someone tell Mitch we don’t agree with Dems on anything
There are a few things I do not like about Scott Walker.
didn’t he recently refuse to appeal on gay marriage?
didn’t he tell conservatives to shut up about “social issues”?
didn’t he tell conservatives/TEA Partiers not to run candidates in primaries against GOP leaders?
I like Cruz, but being a senator is not good for presidential experience. Senators are preening peacocks, governors govern states. President Walker can nominate Cruz for the supreme court.
Correct. And to prevent them from destorying any chance in 2016, they need competent leadership, which means Boehner and McConnell must go.
Mitch agrees with the Dems on a lot of things.
The RINO-Dem coalition dominates the Senate
Walker is another Shamnesty pimp. No thanks.
Here comes Immigration Reform.
OK, the 2014 elections are over, Its now time for the conservatives to divide on all the potential conservative candidates so that we can get another McCain or Romney instead. I think I will wait until they 1. Announce 2. Get some campaigning under their belt 3. Debate. At that time I will pick my guy and will not bash anyone who might be better than somebody picked by GOPe.
maybe I’m mistaken on that one
