The list goes on. And the liberal drumbeat goes on right along with it.
I know, that’s a good one, isn’t it? As a conservative, it is impossible to get inside the mind of a liberal. But think about it for a minute. What makes these people tick? What makes a person believe in every kind of cockamamie idea known to man – and profess these ideas as gospel? The even bigger question is this: How can a reasonably well-educated person fall lockstep into an ideology that supports everything from abortion-on-demand to policies that allow every Tom, Dick & Harry to vote without verifying their identity? It runs the gamut…pick any topic in the news today: Global warming, for instance. For years, Al Gore and other like-minded individuals – many with little or no scientific background – were preaching that the planet was warming and that the world would come to an end if we did not bankrupt the prosperous nations by placing onerous taxes on their energy production. Who cares if a 60 cent light bulb now costs twelve dollars? It’s all for the good of the planet. Liberals, without exception, decided that this was a good idea. After all, “The science is settled,” as Gore preached. In spite of a preponderance of evidence suggesting that global warming is, at best, the result of flawed reasoning or, at worst, an out-and-out attempt to defraud the world, hardcore liberals still cling to it.

Dude, I'm there! I voted for George McGovern! I well remember the moment that Nixon was called the winner at 4 PM, Eastern Time. I also remember the moment that I heard of the Watergate break-in, and the moment that I heard of Nixon's resignation. ( Both times driving my Pinto. )

Well, it's just one cockamamie idea, and not an idea really, but a mindset that I am in tune with the universe. Can't say how I drifted away from this, but I think it is because of Davy Crockett.

You beat me to it. The first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the headline.
From my observation in the broader world (and as a long-suffering second-time-around student, dealing with dumb-as-dirt classmates and faculty), I think it’s because they identify certain authority figures as akin to “daddy”, and thus unquestioningly accept everything they hear as gospel truth. And because they lack an inner sense of “self”, they fill that inner void with a mixture of obedience to their understood “betters” and a zealous-bordering-on-fanatical need for approval. The brutal-but-edifying life experiences of failure and otherwise being “shook out over the waters”, that would normally force them to learn how to think and act on their own, are lacking in these people.
The liberals have kicked God out of their house. They want a separation of church and state, so that they can isolate church and make it of no value or importance.
Then they create a tidy little house with everything in its place, their own sense of right and wrong, their own sense of fairness. They pretend that they have purged themselves of selfishness, that they are really just concerned with their fellow man, or with the planet. When asked about their neighbor, who has different ideas about right and wrong, they say everyone has a right to decide for themselves what is right and wrong. Unless the neighbor is a Christian.
Jesus talked about a man who cast an evil spirit out of himself, and then straightened up his house. But it was empty. And so the evil spirit came back and brought with him seven worse spirits.
The liberals pretend to have gotten rid of selfishness and evil greed. They emptied their house, kept God out, and selfishness and greed have come back, along with hatred for everything good, and a belief that the planet would be better off without mankind. Now, up is down. Insanity reigns. Abortion is good. Euthanasia is good. Redefining marriage to whatever you want it to be is good. Ruining the nation’s economy is good (shutting down coal burning plants, throwing millions of dollars at failed “green” projects, stopping pipeline projects, raising the minimum wage, granting amnesty and government benefits to illegal aliens, etc.). Insanity. What else do you expect after you throw the Creator out?
