It has been widely reported that Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, widow of President John F. Kennedy, shared with family members she was certain that Kennedy’s Vice President Lyndon Baines Johnson, arranged to have her husband murdered.
Soon that conclusion will be heard in the late First Lady’s own words, because audio tapes, recorded of discussions with historian and close family associate, Arthur Schlesinger Jr., between March and June 1964, will be released and excerpts featured on an upcoming ABC News program in November marking the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination in Dallas.

The tapes, which insiders describe as featuring Ms. Kennedy’s disclosures of J.F.K.’s affairs and her romantic liaisons in retaliation, also reportedly reveal her conviction that L.B.J., with a cabal of associates and Texas businessmen, orchestrated the plot culminating in the Kennedy assassination. This is in contrast to the account of these interviews in Barbara Leaming’s biography of Ms.Kennedy, “The Winter of Her Despair”.
The establishment theory of the Kennedy assassination, arguably the most controversial event in American history, is dubbed the “lone gunman”. It is the conclusion of the Warren Report, commissioned by newly sworn in Lyndon Johnson and chaired by then Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Earl Warren.
It concludes that Kennedy was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald, a disturbed ex-Marine who had exhibited erratic actions and behavior and that Oswald shot the President from the 6th floor of the Dallas Book Depository building....

LBJ had a motive if it’s true that they were going to drop him from the ticket and have him indicted and probably sent to prison.

Yeah, I believed this like I didn't think her 'family' sold her like a piece of meat to a Greek Tycoon in the market for a President's Widow. I also believe that a BILLIONAIRE could have had enough security to preventing a Paparazzi from getting that muff shot, too. He wanted it to get out. He paid millions for the honor of getting her.. I never watched another episode of that farce.

That’s the thing. Almost every shady group you can think of had a motive.
Hating LBJ is fun & easy, as he was a world class jerk.
I hope Robert A. Caro lives long enough to complete his fourth & final book of his LBJ biographical series, because that will chronicle Johnson’s presidential years which were not a pretty sight.
But fifty years afterward I am done with conspiracy theories. Fact is, JFK was assassinated by a lone nutcase with enough marksmanship skill to fire accurately at a slow moving convertible.
Now.....LBJ couldn’t believe his own luck when the Presidency literally fell into his lap. Got it. But organize the killing of a sitting President while vice president yourself? That’s a stretch.
Jackie was interviewed only months after the murder of her husband, which she witnessed herself. She must have been frantically grasping for anything, anything that would have brought some sense to this horrific event.
Being told that the Secret Service failed to stop an isolated gunman in a warehouse window wouldn’t have helped.
Another motive - big labor was infested with communists.
But I think Occam's Razor is as applicable to this case as it is to anything. Oswald was a loser commie who wanted to do something historic.
But if LBJ was involved, he must have known that he was putting his protegee in harm’s way. I refer to Governor Connally of course
My regret it resulted in Camelot and the enduring buffoonery of Ted Kennedy for decades.
I believe that Oswald was the sole and only assassin. If there was a conspiracy, it was a conspiracy of one.
