Sleepless Socialists in Seattle!
Self | 10/19/14 | Me

Posted on 10/19/2014 5:17:17 PM PDT by xuberalles

Apparently asking $15 an hour for fast food workers isn’t enough so unappreciated socialists in Seattle are demanding the minimum wage be raised to a “paltry” $20 an hour. There are skilled and educated professionals who don’t command such a wage, not to mention soldiers facing death daily on the front lines of tyranny, but these hypocrites who religiously shell out $5 for a cup of Joe are demanding social justice because they feel slighted by more accomplished Americans? If radical leftists ever succeed in enacting such a law, and I believe it’s only a matter of time before they do, you’ll know exactly who to blame when the private sector collapses and the economy implodes. The problem with socialists is that they are highly adept at spending – or should I say wasting – other people’s hard earned money and future security. COUGH; Barack Obama is case in point! Yet, how many of these wealth redistributors, closet anarchists, put years of their own time, money and effort towards building a viable and successful enterprise; a venture that creates jobs, contributes to a community, and puts food on the table for countless others? No, what progressives excel at is bitching without refrain, siphoning the tears and profits of honest and legitimate workers, and living in a fairytale world where the undeserving – their bribed electorate – reap the profits of risk takers while being completely absolved, let alone concerned, if those entrepreneurs fail and go bankrupt. You know what other organism behaves in the same exact manner? A virus, a leech, a liberal!

If disgruntled workers, dare I say unemployed Democrats, want to make $20 an hour for merely existing then I suggest they open their own business, learn a discernible skill or get a marketable education. In other words, no one owes you a damn thing in life; you owe yourself! If you don’t like what you’re being paid or how you’re being treated, quit and find another job worthy of your expectations. No one is forcing you to work at McDonald's, to starve on a Ukrainian farm or to swim shark invested waters to escape Communist Cuba. That, my friend, is entirely of your own device. Life is unfair and always will be! The quicker you realize this non-negotiable truth, the quicker you get off your envious ass and do something about it. I’m not wealthy, I never have been, and I will never blame my neighbor for my struggles or my shortcomings. It’s called being an adult; it’s also known as being accountable.

Despite what the soldiers of statism may have told you…NPR, MSNBC, and the DNC…the successful have certain unalienable rights, including the right to keep their money, lives and businesses; just like you have a right to change your life for the better. I’d much rather live in a society that is rife with opportunity and a limitless sense of achievement, regardless of the potential pitfalls and misfortunes, than to suffocate beneath the glass ceiling of socialism as the fruits of my labor – the very lifeblood of my family – is squeezed by the calloused hand of political parasites and illicitly given to those who couldn’t care less about my survival, this nation, or any intelligible notion of justice. The only way America works, arguably survives, is if we all make a conscious and concerted effort to work and contribute towards a responsible and vibrant society. Every person of sound mind and body owes it to themselves, their families, and this country to earn a living: no exceptions. Otherwise, it’s only a matter of time before this fabled “beacon of hope”, this last bastion of individual and economic freedom, slowly drowns beneath the dead weight of its own complacency, excuses, and entitlement politics.

The fastest growing start up category in Washington is non-profits. I don't know if these endeavors are considered businesses. But, they are proliferating at an alarming rate.

They are themselves and expression in hypocrisy because in most cases they pay less than market rates for labor and skilled help and offer no benefits in with the understanding that by working for a "non-profit" people are giving something back.

Giving something back, "TO WHAT?", is the question that can't be answered.

Fast food workers demanding $15/hr because they think they can get it.

Socialists demanding $20/hr minimum wage because they think it sounds good.

They may both be wrong, but one is more rational than the other.

I'll answer for them.

To give back to the DemocRAT Party.

That's what most of these "non-profits" are. Money laundering machines for 'RAT, Libturds, Progressives, Socialists and Collectivists.

But I repeat myself.

You know what, let them have it in Seattle, then when every business has folded and there no jobs for anyone maybe they will be pleased with what they wrought. In any case it will be fun to watch, as the unintelligent, untrained, incompetents lose their jobs to educated capable workers long before the city folds.

Why not raise it to $50/hr?

WA non-profits are mostly a scam from the start or get there later. Tax free money and large checks for their Board members. The peons get the spare change, taking it happily because they are doing “good things” in a “good cause”. BWhAHAHAH. Fools and tools.

Seattle has been the Far Side since the mid 70s. Glad I’m not there anymore, as it has only gotten worse - all the lala land yuppies and wannabees have migrated to Bainbridge Island were they literally talk social justice, climate change, etc, as if they were real; then all worked up commute to Seattle on the ferry to make life hell for downtown businesses, commercial fishermen, and any other group that gets in the way of their agendas.

Bainbridge now houses one of the world’s finest collections of third rate artists and lousy singers. Country living, you know. Most have large trust funds to support their habits so requiring someone to pay $20 hour is chump change to them. One guy I knew got $40K a month ... he just played around with pretty girls and took boat building courses, etc. while stuffing a chest of drawers with cash. Tiring work.

Yeah. There’s a bunch of them up here. A friend has worked at one for a little over a year. Can’t seem to explain what exactly it is they do. It’s described as “Christian based fundraising”, and there’s an awful lot of air travel involved.

They’re so ignorant I have no idea they would do just that if allowed. Of course there won’t be any jobs to be had, but that wouldn’t stop them.

On the east side of the state ads are running demanding a 40 hour work week, sponsored by a union. This may be a national campaign, but paying someone for 40 hours if there isn’t work to be done is something only a feather-bedding union could demand.

A few tears ago Boeing Machinists complained during contract negotiations that they had a mandatory 10 hours of overtime a week.

Across the Hood Canal is Port Townsend at the tip of the Olympic Peninsula. They have some B&B’s and small shops and lots of non-profit. Most of the town is retired or on some sort of subsistence program. The x-mayor openly states that the city business plan is based on government dependency and grants.
