Police say Ferguson protesters are threatening their family members with violence

Activists are not only threatening police officers in Ferguson, Mo., but are also threatening their families.

That’s the claim being made by officers in the St. Louis area and it is adding to an already tense atmosphere between protesters and police, according to the local CBS affiliate KMOV.

“They [activists] want to be unabated in their attacks against law enforcement, mistreatment of facts and in their threats against law enforcement,” said Jeff Roorda of the St. Louis Police Officers Association. “These are people calling for violence against police officers.”(continued)

I think we should offer protesters a fully paid one way ticket to Liberia or Sierra Leone. Both countries were effectively formed as homelands for former slaves to escape oppression.

To me this seems a logical outgrowth of the alienation of the police from the public they purportedly serve.

It is tragic that so many good officers are threatened, but if they policed themselves with one-quarter the zeal they show in policing the “rest of us”, this entire scenario would not have had a chance to grow into the fiasco it has become.

As so many others have said, I resent the fact that when I see a police car behind me I feel paranoid rather than protected. The rage of the ferals in Fergusen has some legitimacy to it, though they are wholly wrong in how they are expressing their frustration. The desire to lynch the unfortunate officer who was forced to defend himself with deadly force is wrong on every level.

I would like to propose a solution, but I have no idea where to begin. It’s like the whole system has been destroyed in the last 30 years.

It’s now public: anything that can remotely perceived as a threat can now justify blowing the animal(s) heads off.

Major reporting breakthrough! An entire story without the word “unarmed”.

If the SHTF the Police will not just have the Negros to worry about if they
become Brown Shirts, kicking in doors, and taking our guns.

Just sayin. But since the SHTF hasn't happened, start enforcing laws.
Kill the bastards who trespass. Arm your wives. And warn your neighbors,
because like SWAT, they'll probably kick in the wrong door and kill the wrong people.

Walk off the job and move the family. The thugs aren’t worth it. Let the rabble implode.

The minute they say, “No Bill” is the minute they and their families are marked. They should already have the kids at grandma’s out of state.

They’d probably make more in some security jobs in Dallas than they do as cops in Missouri.

Well, I read “Alas, Babylon” many years ago. I’ve never heard of “Alas, Brave New Babylon.” But it sounds like something that Aldous Huxley might be looking to sue over if he were alive.

Nah, he’d be glad. So would Pat Frank, the author of Alas, Babylon.
