Nurses Union Threatens to 'Picket Every Hospital in This Country' over Ebola Hazmat Suits

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

The nation's largest union and professional association of nurses said it will rise up in protest if hazardous-material suits are not in every hospital soon.

"I'm angry about this," said RoseAnn DeMoro, executive director of National Nurses United. "We want the first line of defense to be the most prepared. Our hospitals are resisting us. The CDC doesn't say that we need hazmat suits. If this doesn't change dramatically, we will picket every hospital in this country if we have to."(continued)

I say good for them. Theirs is a tough job as it is; they need the right gear to combat ebola (and some of the other nasty stuff now streaming north across the border.

Picket? I wouldn’t be anywhere NEAR a hospital.

Yup! The DemocRATS are preaching that you can’t catch Ebola in America. I guess they think that Americans are somehow magically immune to it.

"You don't scapegoat and blame when you have a disease outbreak," said Castillo. "We have a system failure. That is what we have to correct."

Castillo is right.

I’m not at all pro-union as they’ve been infested by marxists since before the Great Depression. But, they have in the past served a good purpose, such as protecting workers from actual threats. This is a good purpose. I don’t blame them for threatening to strike, as this issue is life-threatening for them. What would happen in hospitals if they did strike would be disastrous and that gives me great pause. What would happen if they continue with existing protection would be disastrous as well, though. Let’s just hope that their concerns are addressed and quickly. They’re very legitimate concerns.

“but you can’t catch it that easily, right?????”

Your sarcasm is so very appropriate. The CDC, and others, have been characterizing the risk of transmitting Ebola as similar to the risk of transmitting HIV. That's just not true. Not even close. You don't ever have to have even minimal ‘barrier’ measures (e.g. barrier gowns, masks, gloves, etc.) to prevent HIV transmission, but even with these measures you are still at risk of contracting Ebola - as proven by the transmission to the nurse in Texas. She wouldn't have been under any risk treating an HIV patient, unless she stuck herself with a needle that had been exposed to that patient’s blood, but she contracted Ebola even after using the recommended barrier precautions.

They had a tough job before this. Asking them to take on Ebola with everything else they do is asking for the impossible.

The time it will take to deal with ebola patients will necessitate many more people to deal with those who have it, as getting the gear on and off is very time consuming.

Stop the flights!

THE NURSES AND DOC WON’T STRIKE.

They didn’t protest in the streets when obamcare hit and they won’t do anything now because they now that they would be replaced in the blink of an eye by one million foreign nurses and docs. Hablas Espanol?
And the hospitals would love it.
And odumbi would love it
And the proRegressives would love it.

Am totally Anti Union but these women have a point..they were thrown under the bus yesterday by the CDC because the CDC refuses the admit that contracting Ebola is much easier than they claim it to be..Obama’s minions would much rather blame nurses who devote their lives to saving people than blame Obama, who is allowing these infested turds into this country
